I was talking with some friends and we came up with a solution to superman. You know, so he isn't God on Earth.
Make him fast, but slower than The Flash
Make him smart, but Batman smarter
Make him strong, but Wonderwoman stronger
See he can have all his powers, but dont make him better than everyone else.
BTW did anyone read Spawn vs Batman?
How the hell does Spawn lose to Batman. A mere mortal beats Hell's chosen warrior? WTF!?

[/quote]I've never actually read crisis on multiple earths but I read something like one version of superman, the original comic book version of himself no less, is everything the origina tagline says. "Faster than a speeding bullet, stronger than a locomotive, etc, etc...." Nowhere did it say he could reverse the flow of time or even fly for that matter. He couldn't even fly, just leap incredible distances. the original Superman is a way better character than the newer one. Even Clark on Smallville is better than his comic book counterpart. He's an incredibly flawed person. And Batman is always going to be smarter than supes. By my count, he's one of two people who've ever actually beat superman. Darkseid is the other one.
That's why I'd pick Marvel over DC any day of the week. Take Sentry and Hyperion, both of them literally have the power of the universe, or atleast several stars and one is a shut-in because he's afraid if he sits the wrong way he may obliterate the earth and the other is, in most cases, a homicidal megalomaniac that can't be stopped.
To stay more on topic, I forgot to mention Astro City as a favorite. The character designs are so retro they're awesome. Especially some of the villians and their weapons. They're so corny looking. Like something out of a bad sci-fi movie, yet they work so well.
Sarcasm just doesn't work over the internet.

Calvin and Hobbes. I have all the collections. I was so sad when they discontinued it in the newspaper.
I am a breath of insanity in a world of chaos.

Our Ethics teacher gave us an interesting comic, which is roughly translated to "The Cat of the Rabbi". It's a short comic, full of allegories, and discusses the nature of religion and why it's there in the first place. In this case it takes the Jewish religion as example, but it can be applied to any monotheistic religion. Really interesting.

Isn't that drawn by Joann Sfar? I absolutely love that dude's work. European comic artists are some of the best in the world.
I've yet to read The Rabbi's Cat. I must remember to but it next time I'm in Borders...
