I'm sure the parents had/have good intentions, but speaking as someone who grew up with a nature-based name that is also a common word, I wouldn't recommend it AT ALL. I like my name & get a lot of compliments on it now, but I've heard soooo many lame, stupid jokes that people think are clever!! I've had this name 36 years, do you REALLY think you're the first person to come up with that?? 🙄

My boys' names are uncommon without being "weird"; I tried to find that place between "unusual enough to be weird" and "common enough that there are six others in your grade".

If I were male....hmmm....there are quite a few names that I like, but all but the ones I used for my boys have some reason why I wouldn't use them!
