Mm, My taste varies, but I like some general things to begin with:
In a guy: Good body, not too "pumped up", more natural and not , how do you call it?.. slender? like too skinny.. Hair- what matches the face^^ - don't like bright blonde, I like pale guys, or really lightly tanned..

same problem. i love the quirky girls, and then end up with a cookie cutter innocent type everytime. 😢
