I hate this kind of chps where nothing happens
but at least now we know the people of the village really care about naruto

He's from one of the strongest families in Konoha, he'll probably live long enough to do some damage before being saved. He'll probably turn out to have just the right skill to beat him, convenient ne?

I liked everyone's thoughts about Naruto and how they changed. I though that was sweet. I kind of hoped for someone To say something about his parents (him turning out like them or something), but ces't le vie. I wish they'd get to that arc though.

Random killing off characters is bad sometimes though, but if Kono died, this will just show Naruto how serious the situation is that even his "little friend" died trying to protect the village and Naruto will go berserk mode like they do in shounens. Plus I never liked Kono, he's a weak wimpy annoying crybaby of a character, and not a very important character, and even if one or two characters like that go away, it's not really gonna affect the manga much right?

I kinda understand, but you don't think that Jiraiya (and possibly Kakashi and Tsunade) would be enough for Naruto to get revenge on Pain?

I actually thought Jiraiya died beautifully, his death was well thought-out and had meaning. I don't think Kakashi, with such a large fanbase, will die yet just like that, the mangaka probably will plan some "epic" death for him later on. I'm pretty sure Naruto will go for revenge anyways, but Kono+ the village destruction will just add to it you know, I'm pretty sure if Kono died, Naruto will have some flashback moment reminding him that Pein even went as far to destroy the "future" of the village[aka the next generation]. Even if Tsunade dies, it won't really effect the manga a whole lot imo, but it might do good since it might introduce a new important character as the new Hokage.

I agree with you on how Jiraiya's death was handled. But IMO if Konohamaru died, it would be another one of those "Kill a minor character just so that the main character can go crazy and have a even bigger reason to stop the villain" plots that's been done before. And don't you think that Naruto would already have reason enough to stop Pain with Jiraiya being dead and him killing some of the villagers already? Because to Naruto, everyone in Konoha is as important to him as Konohamaru or any other ninja he regularly interacts with is.

Hmm good point...Konohamaru dieing doesn't really enhance the plot, but it doesn't really degrade it either...minor characters at their best eh? Well doesn't Naruto have lots of cliches anyways? I wouldn't be surprised if the author incorporated the one you just said. I'm sure when Naruto finds out the village is broken, he has enough of a reason to stop Pein just like you said+Pein killing Jiraiya adds on to that to. But good points stated there, I agree with you on most of them. So I guess we'll just wait and see what happens haha.

Pain vs Konohamaru

Naruto: 'If you want to become a Hokage, you'd have to beat me up.'
Konohamaru:I promised him to fight with him someday. Naruto is my rival, so I won't take an escape route. If I did, I wouldn't be able to face Naruto.

Naruto's training scene

He tried to get natural energy when he was running but he failed. Anyways, it seems like Naruto got some ideas because of fukasaku's words.

The katsuyu sent by Tsunade reach all of the wounded. This includes Kakashi, but he might be dead already. Tsunade senses Kakashi's situation and punches a huge column in frustration.

Chouji arrives where Tsunade is. Tsunade tells him to take Chouza(his father) to the hospital because he's still alive. Chouji cries.

The other Pain arrives at the autopsy site and removes the black sticks from the dead body. At that point Kiba and his mom come in.

Team Gai finishes its mission and heads back to Konoha on a bad feeling.

Yahiko Pain arrives where Tsunade is.

"It's been quite a while, Tsunade-sama. You're the last remaining Sannin."
