Ok, I'm trying my best not to look like a typical asshole troll that doesn't think, but can someone explain to me why Toradora is so popular and talked about in the anime community? To me, it just seems like another poorly written drama anime that relies on its' character acting stupidly just to keep the plot moving.
I'm going to have a legion of users on my ass for this...

Well, the farthest I could get to was that episode when Kitamura starting acting emo and died his hair blonde (Reverse in Japan?), and after that, I couldn't take it anymore. That, and Taiga just annoyed the ever-loving shit outta me. She's just another stereotypical flat-chested petite tsundere character that people love to go masochistic for.

Well i have to agree that that arc wasn't the best one but we did get to see Taiga kick the shit out of the President. I guess try it again but watch them from start to finish. Maybe it'll leave a better impression for you.

I'm sorry, but I can't. It was torture for me when I watched it, and it made me rage too much. I'd rather watch the entire anime run of Samurai Deeper Kyo than watch that again.

I have to agree that having a relationship with a person like Taiga would be pure torture for me. 🤢 I don't see the appeal of them. I'd rather have an Ami or Minori, plox. A Kannou's fine too.
I think the problem with you is that you just hate Tsundere (which you've shown plenty of times), and having one as a main lead would be troublesome after all, so I understand. 🤣 Maybe if it was a different female lead, you'd like it.

well I still believe that Ami would have been the best suited for Ruuji but well that's that. Also, Minorin may act all hyper and stuff but to me that just seems like a cover to hide her true feelings, she's also very perceptive and knew from the beginning that Takasu had feelings for Taiga and vice versa. Thats why she tried so hard to stay away from him even tough she liked him too.

Same here. As mutch as I love tsunderes, they usually get butchered in anime adaptations (tora dora, zero no tsukaima season 2+, shakugan no shana were all awful, in my opinion). I think it's because the anime adaptations tend to cut a lot of dialogue, which leaves the characters being tsundere... But shallow.

Guess I typed that the wrong way. 🤣
What I was trying to type was that me hating tsunderes isn't a problem (What with the huge amounts of abuse they deal to people they're supposed to love and deeply care for), and that compared to a tsundere, I seem like a person with no problems at all.

Good Voice Actors - Check
Good Slice of Life-ish storyline - Check
Good Animation - Check
Good Pace - Check
Good Male Lead - Check
Good Female Lead - 2 out of 3
Main Female Protagonist - Epic fail.
Great show. I won't hate it merely because I'm a Taiga hater. Aside from hating lolicons, I hate her personality. Overall she's a fail. The fact that I still like the show despite this incredible flaw is a testament to the quality of everything else. And Taiga did have a good voice actor, albeit I'm a bit tired of hearing her in every loli roll.
Thank god Index only has a minor role in her show or the winter season would have been even more frustrating.
[edit] I'm of like mind with loosecanon that tsunderes are to be hated and loathed. Though I can't let one annoying character ruin such a well done show for me. 😎

well now, the ending was pretty cute and sweet but its kinda disappointing dont you think?
about the tsundere thing, i dont really mind it as long as the feelings come out.. it would be more annoying if the character is tsundere and stupid or tsundere and a coward. so so basically its the side characteristic that gets me to a conclusion 🙄
