dragonball died because they focusec on goku 2much .. after goku died in the cell saga they should have kept it like that and focused on Gohan as the main Character and that would have made dragon ball GT much better if Gohan was the main character but no they had to make goku a kid again.... >:-(

Actually, he put the Z because he wanted to end the manga after the first wish was made, but they kept making him continue due to its popularity.

Dragonball GT does't count, it's not even based on the manga.

But yeah, even just Dragonball Z kind of went on too long, Well,maybe not too long, (because all the story arcs have their good points) but they peaked too soon with the power levels and kept having to top themselves to the point where it became rediculous. I can blow up a planet! Oh,yeah? I can blow up 10 planets! etc..

I'm gunna guess that the "Z" stands for Zoku. Which means continued. So Dragon Ball Continued.

Wasn't it just "Dragon Ball" and they put the 'Z' on it when they brought it to America? For the manga anyway. They may have done the same thing in Japan to help differentiate the series.

I haven't a clue what Z and GT actually stand for or mean, but it's three generations of fighters. DB is just Goku, DBZ is Gohan, and DBGT would be Pan if you think about it.

Actually Toriyama's original idea was to finish it on Cell Arc, but WSJ didn't allow him because of the bad times of the magazine, or so i've read in quite a few sites...

well, i think GT stands for "good times". after baby vegeta arc there is reference in episode in which they have party and they also shows dragon balls cracking 😔

But honestly? Dragonball should have ended after they dealt with Freeza if it wanted to make any sense at all.

They establish that he's one of the strongest being in the universe, and his decades of intergalactic tyrannical rule seem to support that, but by the end of DBZ, I'm pretty sure Krillin could've whooped his ass.

To which, again, Freeza ruled the freaking galaxy with the power he had. If Krillin could whoop his ass, does that mean Krillin could theoretically rule the galaxy if he wanted to?

and why so much hate for GT and Goku
Gt was perfect imo
Goku back as he should as the MC
and we have fun adventure again like how it all started
and Trunks and Pan are just perfect to come along on that journey
and not one person i know disslikes Goku
sure most of us like vejita more but gohan come...on he is FAR FAAAAR down that list
