Shinigami aren't immortal, they age and die as been indicated through the entire series. There have been younger versions of shinigami such as yoruichi, soi fon, byakuya, rukia (baby) and others, they definitely age. Death for souls do occur, hence the Aizen-Vizard incident 100 years ago was invistigated since the clothes remained when they shouldn't. Shinigami are still souls, souls/spiritual beings with more power than others. So when they completely run out of spiritual power, they die.

The thing about the arrancars is that they were hollows before they were turned. They weren't made from scratch by Aizen. Ulq having some unique ability could've been passed on from when he was a vasto lorde and he simply didn't have a chance to use it since becoming an arrancar. Note that Aizen put the "rule of no release" under the dome for those 4 and higher so it's unlikely they'd know each other's true strength anyways.

Yammy is just a joke, I seriously doubt he kept any secrets from Aizen or even has a second release. Him going to 0 from 10 was probably a joke/plan created by Aizen for special circumstances. Yammy still only has 1 release so far even if his number changed.

Now, about that whole ichigo being sucky thing...
Ichigo sucks in general, it's true he did defeat the captains before but that was ages ago. Don't expect people to be as crappy as the series first started, if ichigo can get stronger then so can others. Just because everyone was at 500 before doesn't mean they couldn't train and become 1500 in a few months.
Back to the whole ichigo sucks in general, even hollow ichigo explained why ichigo sucks on multiple occasions. The fact ichigo is afraid of his own spiritual pressure, ichigo having no resolve or desire to battle, adding the whole self denial of what he is, of course he's going to get beaten down again and again by those confident of their abilities.

everything in the last 50 chapters has happened in the space of like a half an hour. maybe it takes them that long to walk from their hangout to karakura central 🤣

and @ greydark - the more human the release is, the higher the hollow level. yammy is too big. there is a reason he is number ten. the reason is that he is weak weak weak

Seeing that happen to Soi Fon wasn't as good (Yoruichi needs to show up and rescue her or something), but I suppose Barragan is turning out to be a pretty cool opponent.

Well unless Kubo wants to add another gaping plot hole into Bleach, one that just about anyone who's read it will see, she has to have one. It was stated back in the SS arc that Zaraki is the only shinigami to attain Captain without their Bankai.

He's not someone who hates doing Aizen's dirty work, or someone that's humble and would let other people get ahead of him. He's pretty much someone that just does his job without stalling or asking any questions (Except for that part where he was trying to show Ichigo how despair truly looks despite have 2 perfect chances to quickly kill Ichigo and finish his job). Ken-Chan is pretty awesome, but Yachiru is definitely my favorite Shinigami. I really want to see what happens when she fights...hopefully Kubo won't pull another, "Oh look I'm suddenly an adult!" thing like he did with Nel again.
