I don't get this manga now. "Even Shinigami fear death..."
Um aren't they dead already anyway? Unless they're like in some kind of limbo or something I thought they were all dead. 😕 Or maybe I just forgot some explanation for this.
The literal translation for shinigami is 'death god' so barrigan is saying that it is ironic for a 'death god' to fear death. Remember shinigami can age and die its just that they age much more slowly and when they die they are reincarnated as human beings with no memory of their previous existance.

I get the feeling more and more that the afterlife, be it Soul Society or Hueco Mundo, is completely arbitrary. What is the point of a second life where you age, die, and live in feudel era conditions? And what was that bullshit in beginning claiming that SS is a paradise? (I understand that Bleach's direction from its humble beginnings and the Bleach of today are two vastly different stories - and that Tite pulls things out of his ass - yet saddly I'm still willing to read it...)
Can you imagine an imaginary menagerie manager imagining managing an imaginary menagerie?

I like that old death guy the most of the espada, though this was yet another useless chapter. Well the oldening tech was kinda cool. 😀 😎

I just noticed something.
Alright, so Barragan has that "Old Age" power right? And when he released, it was shown that all he had to do was be around something and it would break down and "rot" away (Like when he was walking on that roof and it crumbled). So why doesn't he just sonido over to the other 3 pillars and make them rot? Yamamoto and everyone else who isn't injured or fighting the espada and their fraccion could come in and try to stop him, but they'd start to rot just from being around him, and then there's the fact that he was so fast that Soi Fon of all people couldn't follow him, and she's one of the fastest captains. And even if they do somehow stop him, I don't think they could counteract the rotting fast enough because it seems to act very quickly like with the buildings Barragan was walking on or with Soi Fon's arm.

Just because someone's head was chopped off doesn't mean they're dead. That's just silly.

That would be way too easy (not enough time for Ichigo to come save the day). Also, there has to be some sort of weakness to the "aging" ability...since it looks unstoppable, there is probably a huge flaw in it.

Oh, I know it'd be too easy. That's why I was wondering why Barragan just didn't do that yet. It makes me wonder if Kubo just thinks of powers for characters without realizing how someone with those powers would fully utilize them if they were in the same situation. And I hope that there's an equal drawback to his power, because if there isn't and he dies mainly because of being stupid and/or arrogant like Kubo's done so many times with other arrancar, then I wouldn't be surprised.
