Discussing the validity of your inquiry is on topic. Without defining what abuse is, how can anyone decide if it's right or wrong?

Another hypothetical for instance: A police officer confiscates a registered firearm from a suspected gang member. The suspected gang member later gets in a fight in which he stabs a person non-lethally. If the police officer had not confiscated the firearm, the situation would have ended with a fatality.

Is that abuse of power? According to the law, it is.

I don't mind as long as I am not the one who

I would feel bad doing so, but I won't nag if

The ambiguity of this topic is as stark as the superfluousness of my posts. How can I say something is wrong if that something is not defined?

If you want an opinion on the validity of 'abuse of power', I will say that any abuse of influence or power is up to interpretation on a case by case basis. There are some instances where the ends justify the means.

Well, suffice to say that I get carried away with language at times.

As far as it being the first choice; to a short extent yes. But this subject has so much room for grey area that I chose 'other'.
