Manga Quality VS Speed

Hi I'm a former editor for Shoujo Magic and Entropy. =) It's been a few years since I've been in the manga scene and I was wondering what people look for? Is it still quality? I've been thinking of picking up a few old projects from Shoujo Magic (I have permission) that they still have sitting around. I've also been working on Ikyou no Kusa... kinda been on the works for awhile.
I'm asking because it takes a lot of work and if people just care about it being released then I'll just do that and not waste my time making it all pretty.

It depends on the series, the number of staff, etc. I can't stand reading suuuuuper LQ scanlations, but at the same time I think it's unnecessary to edit out SFX or work with RAWs that are 600DPI- 200DPI has always been WAY MORE THAN ENOUGH for me. I would say 2 chapters a month is ideal, 1 a month is acceptable and 1 per week is mind-blowing. According to my opinion, this should be per series, so a group shouldn't take up more series than they have staff to work on at this speed.

I prefer speed. If a series takes too long to come out I end up having to read it all over from the beginning or wait until it's completed because it just feels too awkward. I dont feel as attached or involved anymore after waiting too long.

I think you're going to get a lot of speed answers.
Speed is fine as long as a better version gets put out later for archiving.

So it would seem. XD Don't think I'll bother with releasing a better version then. Now to just get my husband into translating again. 🤢

Speed for a moden, popular, ongoing series.
For something less known (or less likely to be licensed) then I prefer quality by far.

Speed! But only IF the quality is above average. If it releases quick but gives super bad quality then no thank you

speed for the younger audience definitely
but at the same time their is a risk with "speed"
if you choose speed over quality, than every chapter is like a roll of die
i would only choose speed if you are really good with thinking on your feet
if you want something epic and more meaningful
definitely quality over speed because it will show in the long run
and people will take recognition of that well thought out manga
why because i am the president of the student council of course

If the reason why the releases are slow is because they want to bring the best quality then I will prefer to have MQ.
I don't really care about quality as long as it is readeble and I can see the images clearly and not some blur pictures taken by camera. It is also not necessary to remove big SFXs. In fact I think that is a waste of time cause we are ruining the original art when sometimes SFXs are written by hands, by the mangaka himself.
1 chapter per month is ridicule lol So 1 week per chapter is perfect.

I'd much rather have a good-enough chapter now than a superfantastic cleaned and whatnot chapter in a month. Chances are I won't notice the extra work anyway. So long as the scanlating is at least of inoffensive quality, speed all the way.
Although speed is an important factor, I do actually notice the difference between a MQ and HQ. I can tell when the editor has taken the time to get rid of all the noise and fill in all the black spaces perfectly.
Although they are lovely to look at, I don't mind it if there's a bit of noise or if the black spaces aren't pitch black.
What I do mind is when sometimes takes a raw, leaves it as it is, only makes the speech bubbles white and fill them in with a font like Comic Sans. I'd rather be patient and wait longer for better quality than read chapters that are released quickly with quality like that.

Personally, quality appeals to me more. Although I'm not very up-to-date with the few ongoing series I read (I decide to catch up / download the latest chapter whenever I feel like it, rather than the instant it comes out), so I doubt my opinion is of much use to you.
