The story was about this kid who goes to this place near the sea with his mother's letters to a man she was in love with, to find the guy. The guy like turns out to like own an inn and had gone to school with the kid's mother. But the kid falls in love with the guy or whatever, and it turns out the man's daughter like drowned or something. And in the end, he puts the kid on a train to go home. I remember the author was one I didn't really like, so thats probably why I can't remember it, but the story was good anyways.

So any help would be appreciated.
