I don't have a garden, but I do grow a lot of carnivorous plants. Not exactly by choice. My sundew turned into eight sundews and they're making more sundews

lol I wouldn't trust myself to take care of a plant any more than I'd trust myself to take care of a pet or child.

I only grow plants that you can forget about and they won't die. Succulents and a cactus. Though I have also killed a number of those too.

50% vegetables, 40% flowers of all kinds, and then herbs. The dirt in my yard is so fertile that even scraps from produce bought at the stores grow back, and we have wild berries all over the place.

I grew up on a farm! Until my generation, my family consisted of mostly farmers. My uncle even won awards for his efforts. Unfortunately, earning money through farming is difficult and very laborious. My generation all pursued other careers instead (healthcare, engineering, etc.), with some even moving abroad. We still have most of the land but we barely ever cultivate it these days, and I fear for the future when no one's taking any interest in working on it.

Lol'ed at the first three replies
I once had a cactus that I killed. I have nothing now but if I had a yard, I would definitely try to grow vegetables and fruit.

My thumbs are black, so to speak. I used to think that I'd one day have a fragrant garden of herbs and edible flowers, but I can't even grow weeds without killing them. It's basically the same for indoor houseplants. I've managed to keep poinsettias and Easter lilies alive for a while, and that's about it.

Not much. I love plants and there's a garden with a small tree, herbs, creepers, flowers and shrubs but I'm not the one who takes care of it. So, I have only a six year-old cactus and a rather young succulent (plus three baby ones) to call my own. I'd love to have my own garden for fruits, vegetables and herbs. Better get rich first since houses with gardens don't come cheap in the city. I want a big tree too. Apples?

I mow the lawn, but that's just trying to kill enough of the grass so that it doesn't become a health risk (ticks, mice, etc.) while looking green and nice enough. I also don't actually take care of plants. Thus, I don't keep plants.

Well, the one who tend the garden in my house actually isn't me, but my mom. But we have a bay leaf tree, chilli tree, flowers, mint, mini cactus, and other outdoor plants. We once had aloe vera and salak tree too, but it already died.
I'm not sure what I should choose from this poll.. so I just choose outdoor plants.

Even I have indoor houseplants and I am as far removed from nature as one gets despite a regular-ish upbringing. Half the participants are crazy!

I am the master of killing all plants, I tried to plant a tree and even that is dieing. The only plants I keep are fake ones.

I'm sure many of us have gone through that "assignment" at least once in their school life as a child. That's right. The "grow a flower/grass at home' project and bring it to show & tell". I dreaded those assignments. I used to get it at least once a year. Mine always either died or ended up not growing good due to either caring too much or caring too little for it. From then on, I decided that I would never have anything to do with plants, unless it's for consuming. 😎
