I like to read them unless I'm short on time.

When they are there, I do. One Piece's ones were quite interesting 🤣

I often skip directly to the body of the manga (or skip over sidebars as I read through it). After I'm done reading the main story, I go back and read all of that kind of stuff. I think they're a pain to translate but definitely worth it--some aren't in every version of the manga and they don't always make it into professional translations, if any.

LOL, when I typeset them, I am forced to read them anyway...

While reading manga though, only when they're short, if not I generally skip them since they're not part of the manga story itself. 😀 When I'm bored I go back and read them.. but i'm rarely bored.

I read the manga-ka's notes when they're included/translated. Sometimes I'm more entertained by them than the current storyline. xD

I think the professional translations seem to take into consideration whether the manga-ka's notes are relevent to the manga like how the idea came about or alternate ideas (good chance of getting published) or if they are just rambling on about their daily lives (maybe published) or even just saying "I don't know what to write about" (probably not published).

Most of the time. I like reading what the mangaka has to say.

No, I usually go straight to the manga.

Yes, I always read them! I like to know what the mangaka has to say about his/her work or life. It makes reading the story more personal for me. I'm always disappointed when there isn't an author's note included.
