Light Speed
Aww man, do I have to make an introductory statement to start this thread? 🤣 So, I heard that light speed is unachievable. Do you agree with this, or disagree? o__o Science is still young, and we can discover processes that enable us to achieve the speed of light, or at least simulate/copy it in some way.
When I grow up, I'm gonna be a spaceship captain. 😮

Spaceship! Gah, I don't think I will live to get to see them 🤣
I voted no, since I probably won't be there to witness it if it ever happens sniff

As attaining the speed of light is highly
not plausible, going beyond it is not
even possible assuming that everything we
say in contemporary physics is valid.
Even if we move faster than light,
we see the light pass us at the same speed
as it would pass us normally – at the speed of light.
That's why holding a mirror infront of you will
reflect your face even if you move at speed of light.
You simply cannot beat it.

that's not always true, it's got to do with relativity...

Everything has something to do with relativity,
but it is solid that we cannot pass the speed of
light as we are not even near alike to plasma.
A thousand theories of unnatural settings won't allow
us to get out of out 3D plane.
And we are not really moving that fast when the
space is expanding.

I'm with Tsu on this one, I doubt it will happen and even if it did, it wouldn't be within my lifetime.
I think we'll learn to use wormholes before then, that would be even better.

Assuming they really do exist.
yeah, not gonna happen anytime soon, and that is if it ever happens. There are other mysteries worth solving first closer to home.

I have no clue if we ever will. We probably will one day. If we havent destroyed all of humanity through nuclear warfare or used up all of our resources or somehow made our planet uninhabitable first
[color=black]Read for reference. Science is not idealism. Science is not escapism. Science is not humanism.
Dear hypothetical reader,
You, especially you, but gundams, mahou shoujos and bishies included, cannot travel faster than light due to the special theory of relativity. As the famous phrase that even kids know harks –
E = MC^2.
While the object gains more energy such as speeds up, it becomes more massive, therefore meaning you ought to put more energy into it to increase its velocity, making it even more massive, far more massive than 2 duct tape-stacked XBoxes, and even harder to accelerate, harder to accelerate than that guy whose car is the
first one in the lead of a congestion.
The energy to achieve the speed c is infinite.
Alas, trying to accelerate objects that are held together by light to the speed of light will not end well. Photons are used as force-carrier particles by the electromagnetic forces holding you together.
That's an atom shower there or perhaps a quark spray or
something even more amusing.
Even if there was a way to reach that speed, the object
would probably turn into a black hole.
Infinite energy to reach speed c means
infinite mass in a finite volume. That gives
birth to a black hole.
Assuming someone reaches this speed,
there would be nobody there to witness it happen
As you reach speed c, you cease to
experience time and at that point,
the universe would be over already.
Sincerely yours, the universe.

Is impossible of us Humans, to reach the speed of life...
Nevertheless new discoveries in time will allow us "most likely our machines" to reach and maybe surpass the speed of light.
THAT only if we get that far, and I wouldn't bet on it.

Indeed, I often notice how life passes me by. (Sorry, just had to point it out.~ )

🤣 I voted 'no'.
The universe has spoken.

huh... and that is why I shouldn't write anything after working my ass for a whole day...
E = MC^2 is not absolute, nothing is, so there is always a chance of reaching and surpassing the speed of light, but by that moment we won't be human any more....

Yet it magically seems to work
and has given us a lot of good,
clear, stoner-free things,
unlike you.

Yet, History has shown us that things that work today will only be reinvented or surpassed later.
E=MC^2 is not absolute, all physicists agree that we can't understand how the universe works, is like having some pieces of a puzzle and pulling them together, even if all the pieces fit, the whole view is incomplete.
Nothing is truly impossible until we can solve the whole puzzle.
oh and Mams... can you please cut all your fingers? I know you can't, but I can only dream about that day.
