you are quite right
I always considered his way of handling battles his worse point (not saying he doesn't have more) and I am sorry with his editor, but the best fight is Ishida vs Mayuri... even thought I do agree, Byakuya vs Ichigo was kind of good.

Yeah, like, I want more moments like this...
thinks hard I don't really have a favorite Bleach fight. Since most of them consist out of Ichigo fights. I'd pick Hitsugaya vs. Gin, or Ichigo vs. Hollow Ichigo if that one counts.

Yeah, I think the first clue that it was going down in quality after the SS arc was when Kubo revealed Rukia had a shikai all this time.

Yeah, I mean what is wrong with Yancha syndrome?
Fought a little, fell of the power charts, and decided to live a normal life... what is wrong, if all the non captain shinigamis (besides the 11 division, because lets face it, Yumichica and Ikkaku are fools, but they are kind of unique and less annoying than say matsumoto) become useless pieces of trash, with no other relevance than plot related deads.
and actually, I am one that believes that If Byakuya had died at the hands of Aizen, Bleach would be much more interesting, (and Rukia and Renji would had a real reason to fight and improve)... but Hey AIZEN is awesome, he manipulated everyone and managed to get what he wanted, BUT in the end, he didn't kill anyone >_< in SS, with in my eyes made him lose a LOT of his (at that time) recently earned points.
