Ten years is a cutoff in my opinion. If you can have a kid at 20, then 20 years pass and your 40 and the kids 20. Like, this means both you and the kid can be dating a 30 year old with my ten year cutoff rule. Basically my rule of thumb is don't date someone your kid could date.

This is not to say you can't be happy with a huger age gap, but its to say your kinda stepping on toes to do it.

I could date someone 10 years older than me. The older you get, the less age differences matter. I'm 31 now, so I don't think dating someone 41 would be shocking. However, I just really couldn't see myself dating someone 10 years younger than me. I just think they'd be way too immature for me and I feel like I have less in common with young people these days (yep, I've reached the age where I say "back in my day..." and "kids these days...&quot😉.

I've never dated someone that much older (and definitely not that much younger), and the thought is a turn-off, so I answered no. 'Would you date x' is always clearer cut in theory than in reality though. I once had a few dates with a Stephen Harper stan 🤣

I'm 32 and I dated someone who was almost 11 years older me and it's honestly not much different compared to dating someone my own age. I typically prefer to date close to my age but 10 years older is about as high as I would go to date. However, I just can't see myself dating someone who is 10 years younger.
