New Manga Genre

Correct me if I'm wrong:
This kind of genre is seen all over the place, but it doesn't have a name or officially classified. I feel that it should officially be classified.
The genre is the type of series where the main character, or maybe more characters, have a sepparate life. Not really the genre where they live in an alternate world or anything, but that they are normal people and have a life other than also.
I'm not very good at explaining, so I'll give you some examples: Ranma ½; Bleach. Hmm... Well I can't actually think of any other examples right now, but I could yesterday, when I was thinking about it.
Ideas for calling this genre could be:
"daiyaku" (Japanese for double);
or "kagehinata" (Japanese for double-faced);
or "uchimatakouyaku" (Japanese for "fence-sitting");
or "kakemochi" (Japanese for "two more possitions at a time");
or "guusaku" (Japanese for "two working together");
or "kentai" (Japanese for "two purposes");
or "genpai" (Japanese for "two opposite sides");
or "nikasho" (Japanese for "two parts");
I personnaly like Kentai... It's simple and accurate.
Uhh... yeah. That's about it!
I'd love to hear your ideas and comments. NO FLAMMING PLEASE (without a VERY good and EXPLAINED reason).
So, in other words you mean
that they have a second life
like some Superman or something?
I don't really need this genre, but
someone could need it, so I don't
think it would be a bad idea. 🤨
Anything that helps the reader is
always valuable to me.

Yup, most superhero manga (i dont think they're that common, but still) would be an accurate series that fits this genre!

Yu Yu Hakusho
Detective Conan
Bleach
Ranma
Inuyasha
Okitsune-sama de Chu
All I can think of right now that would fit it..
It wouldn't be a bad idea.. Just brings more classification to manga..
Edit:
I'm not too fond of any of the examples..

Well, it would be a bit hard to define - Ouran could count, as Haruhi is hiding her gender from the general school, but all the main characters know, so it's debatable. Then there's The Melacholy of Haruhi (all the characters being espers and such), Vampire Knights (hidden vampire-ness)...
Cinderella Boy, Penguin Revolution... quite a lot of gender-benders, actually. Would they count? Otomen, Day of Revolution, Ageha 100%... most of the manga I own. Yeah, can you define it a little less broadly?

i dont really think its a separate genre...
genre is something like "romance" or "action". what you r talking about is the plot, the story itself...

hmm... yeah, i guess you've got a good point there... Most genres classify the main ideas behind the plot, not the plot itself...
But I think some other genres are border-line plot... such as historical... well i dunno.
I believe it belongs as a sub-genre, along with Yuri, and Gender Benger. Where it doesnt actually classify the series, but what happens.

interesting idea, but is a little vague. not to mention if that part of the story was somehow a secret until later on, would if be a spoiler in a way? tho some manga do run with a romance tag when they just randomly bring it out later in a series....

Hmm... yeah I guess so... But most manga of what I'm talking about would reveal it in the first few chapters... It's not quite the same as double agent type situation.

I've already voted no because I don't think we need another genre tag just so people can sub-categorize mangas more then they already do... but I think the tag(if any) would be better set as "Double Life" because that's really what you are trying to describe.
Ergo Proxy would be of the same vein as well, and hell you could almost count Naruto in if the nine tails wasn't an actual separate entity. Don't know that we need a genre for it but there are a lot more than you think.
