I'm not into it. Your perspective on the matter changes if you've ever known a victim of sexual abuse inside of their family. It fucks them up for good, to the point where they can no longer function on a normal emotional level.

Imagine you are a mother who can no longer hug her children for fearing that her children might get the wrong impression and she just feels wrong and dirty for doing it.

I've read some of the manga, and it is never ever true to life. In real life there is always a victim in the relationship, even if they don't realize it. It's wrong to victimize someone you should love unconditionally. Imagine the normal life and joy they could have with someone else in life (kids etc). By committing incest with a family member you are taking away they're chance to have that normal life.

Personally I would like to live in a world without victims (of anything).

Most of the people in this thread are disgusting. There is a reason it is illegal because it has HUGE consent issues. Parents have a huge power over their children and so do siblings. Most victims of incest unwillingly 'consents' because they're scared that their only family will leave or hate them or that there will be conflict and fights within the family. You can't "break up" with your parents, because you will always be family. Especially if you are underage and is dependent on your parents to live. You are also forced to live with your siblings and older siblings very often taek care of and have some authority over younger siblings. Studies on victims of incestual abuse shows this:

"Indications are that incestuous abuse usually does not commonly involve physical force or violence. Verbal or implied threats are more often used by the perpetrator to ensure the child's silence and compliance. **The child maybe threatened with family breakup, dissolution of the special relationship with the perpetrator, shame, or blame. **The perpetrator may also threaten to commit suicide, harm the victim or other family members, family pets, or valuedpossessions if the incest is revealed or terminated."

and

"While neither women who are raped nor incest victims willingly give consent,**the child's experience differs because of the adult's authority and importance in his or her life. **The perpetrator gains access to the child by betrayingthe child's special trust and by exploiting the child's powerlessness. Thus,incest can be viewed as a form of rape (sexual penetration through the use of force with lack of consent on the part of the victim) within the family, with the added potential for psychological damage to the victim due to the relationship between the child and the adult."

It is illegal because even WITH consent it is almost impossible to know if that person actually wants it because of the HUGE consequences should they say no. In 99% of incest cases(even the ones with consent) the younger person usually felt abused, tramutized, forced into something they didn't want, ashamed and used. This is such an important law and it should never be changed. Ever. Can you even imagine how uncomfortable you would be if your mother or father came into your room at night, touched you and propositioned you? Even if you didn't have sex I'm pretty sure that even the suggestion would freak you out and ruin your relationship with that person.
