i think you guys are looking way too much into it. like they said themselves priscilla had potential. plus she was also freaking out so she wasnt exactly fighting well.

so no one here read the extra chapter that just came out?...

teresa = monster.

Speculation,
claymore's power is more or less the same with an awakened one.
Reason:
claymores fight without going over the limit of their mental control, meaning they're supressing their power while they fight most of the time. The limit is just so they don't lose their mind, not the limit of how much power they have.
Once awakened, they have no need to hold back, therefore seems stronger.

Drawbacks:
once awakened, you want to eat guts, and get targetd by the organization among other things.

result:
claymore power = awakened power.
just rarely used if it can be accessed at all.

hence, explains how clare can win in that fight if her she removes the limit.

meh.

Yeah I read that extra chapter... And yeah, that proves how much of a monster Teresa was. Anyway, I'll just wait and see what the author has to say about all that later. He probably has something in mind. And if he doesn't I still think this an extremely entertaining manga. I'll just need to put my logic at rest for a while.

The difference between the two is most likely something quite simple, that we don't normally think of. Irene says it once I think, someplace in there. At least she does in the version I read.. Fan Translation though, so I can't be sure. XD

The experience level between Teresa and Priscilla is huge. Teresa has much experience fighting not only Yoma, but also in dealing with her fellows. I bet in her time, she executed some Claymore, so no doubt she had experience in this area. Whereas, although Priscilla is very strong and had much potential, she barley had any experience. Thus to fight Teresa she released too much power, not to mention too much emotion, and that spelled out her utter defeat by Teresa's hand. For Teresa's mind was still calm, so she could think clearly, whereas Priscilla's mind was blown by emotion, so she could barley think.

Or at least, thats my conclusion, it is probably wrong though. XD

Spoilers should be evident by now...

Am I reading correctly with the 10sigh translations that there has been a 7-year timeskip from the Rigaldo battle? Isn't that... kind of ludicrous?! Raki disappearing completely and Clare wasting away her time for 7 years makes for a very bad way to process events... doesn't it? 7 years is a long time, isn't it? Or is it just relatively short to all the Claymore? Huuuumho... the last few chapters have been confusing for me.

Well thing about Teressa as we see especially on the first side story is that she was stupitly strong...I mean she fought an awakened No2 ex Number 1 ,almost an Abyssal One and she just made a walk over it.And even worse Rosamary didnt even realised Teressas powers till before she died... And after even Teressa told her handler that she won awakened Rosamary he just didnt believed her.(Think the name was Rosamary not 100% sure 😛 )

Also when she fought Prisilla she coudlnt read her movements cause Prisilla was floating Yoma power from everywhere. So she didnt won her cause she could read her attacks, but because she was just stronger by far, possibly a lot stronger than Fully Awakened Prisilla which was mentioned later to be the stronger creature alive, stronger than rest Abyssal Ones.

Clare propably inhareted that enormous power, but like Teressa, they couldnt know she was so Strong. Yeah Teressa was No 1 ,but they had No idea how great her power where...

And Clare became no 47 mostly cause she was only 1/4 rather than that was her true power. Even Miria that after became really strong started as No 17 before she got promoted to No 8 and finally No 6.

Well Irene said Priscilla had more potential than Teresa. This doesn't necessarily mean that Priscilla will be stronger than her immediately, it may have taken a long time before Priscilla surpassed Teresa. Also Teresa is #1 for a reason, she completely dominates 2-5. Remember she's never once had to go past 10% of her power, ever. So apparently she's strong enough to take out Priscilla with only 10% of her power. I think that Teresa getting killed by Priscilla was kind of stupid. I know it was needed to advance the plot, but someone that strong being caught off guard is highly unlikely even with the softening received by meeting Claire.
