I recently took my older brother, whose never shot a pistol in his life, out to shoot at a range. Long story short, he almost lost a finger (or almost had a massive hand injury) firing my Glock because he braced it like a revolver. Also, he completely lost grip (he almost dropped the damn thing) on my .357 magnum, even after I told him it was going to kick him in the ass.

Needless to say, I had to heavily instruct him on how to load, cock, and unload both of these weapon types multiple times until I was confident enough that he knew what he was doing. My Glock is a semi-automatic 9mm, and my .357 magnum is a single-action revolver. Two very different weapon types.

Kid, playing Call Of Duty doesn't make you a damn weapons expert, nor does watching a TV show. You can't run a backhoe or a crane because you watch construction shows. You're not a 200 average bowler because you kill it in WII Sports. You're not an ace detective because you watch Colombo. You can't play guitar because you're amazing at Guitar Hero.

That's embarrassing, if you ask me.

This topic reminds me of that Indiana Jones movie in which he goes up against a swordsman with fancy moves and defeats him with one bullet. 🤣 I find it a bit ridiculous when these weapons are used at the same time yet somehow the sword is portrayed as equivalent (Cowboy Bebop-style) but definitely the sword is a much cooler weapon.

I like swords, because you also have to feel the resistance of the blade hit when you hit your opponent (the recoil, i guess). It takes a greater mental toil as well as physical to fight well with swords. I like close combat over far away shooting.
