I just got Vista in September, and it's actually not that bad. You need to turn off the UAC though, because frankly, it's annoying and useless as hell.

Life's been a bit easier since I got Vista, but I'm still awaiting getting Windows 7

Well, you see, I like to make movies and such. For some dumb reason, vista is loaded with clashing codecs and programs so I had to deal with ALOT of crashing and it was grating my nerves. It's okay I guess, but I would rather still have my XP back. 😔
Probably the only thing I like about vista is you get to change the colors for stuff and cool widgets, but other than that it's crap. It I could afford it, I would have probably gotten a mac. 😐

I have XP, with no intention of trying Vista. I'm planning to buy a new computer soon, and it will have Windows 7.

Using an Nlite version of XP pro. Hated Vista, its UAC warnings and all its bloatware. Seriously, how the hell do you build an OS that finds new ways to get in the way of users? Until I get a new PC, I won't bother with windows 7. I don't game much anymore, my PC handles most video below 1080p@30fps fine and I don't have a TV/monitor that would be able to take advantage of such a resolution anyway. Frankly, if Linux ever gets around the problem of proprietary formats in a convenient fashion, I'd probably dump Microsoft altogether. Makes me wish I was more of a tech nerd. 🤢

vista uses too much ram, too much errors, too much trash~ and is prone to troubles.....
i haven't tried windows 7 yet, but it seems intresting...

XP is at the top for me~<3

My computer is never updated, so I still use XP.

Hell I still have Microsoft Word 2000! Every time I open it it has that stupid 'preparing to install' crap 🤣

When I eventually get my own laptop, I'll break away from this oldness. I'm thinking I might go Mac though...

I've played around with Vista before, but I really don't care what system I use. A computer is a computer. As long as it's got internet and it's not slow, it's fine.
I only say this though because I don't know any better 🤣

I prefer compiling a custom kernel and streamlining my OS to just how I like it... modularity is very important to my workflow and I only ever get work done if things are responsive and minimalist...... so basically, Windows is not for me..... XP, Vista, 7..... bloat is still bloat, regardless of how you dress it up.... Oh, and I don't do much PC gaming either.

Quote from Regnak

Have yet to try windows7, but il wait until more support for the OS is made and updates are released to fix the inevitable problems thatl arise.

Vista=7 beta

So expect very few problems.

I'm stuck on XP, and prefer it to Vista.

I like Windows Vista. Took me a few weeks to get used to it, but once I was, I hated having to use the family computer when it had XP. I have to write a lot of papers and do a ton of slide shows for my major and I just think it's easier to use Vista for that

I prefer vista but that's onyl because I play a lot of games on my computer and all the good games require vista now. If the supprt for games was better I would be running linux.

I will gladly run 7. Especially since it will actually work on my machine that is older. Unlike Vista.

The only reason I migrated to vista was for DirectX10, back when it was new.

Vista is garbage, IMO.
