look at the Dragonball movie if you want to know if it'll be a piece of shit or not

Even if ppl dont have high hopes for any live action adaptations of anime made here in the US, they will still go watch it or at least rent it when it comes out in theatres out of pure curiosity or boredom. Ofcourse i am part of that group.

I don't even know why they bother. Americans have a hard time wrapping their heads around whats in a manga/anime and properly translating it into a live action. It tends to get lost and turned into something else. The only one i'm looking forward to is the akira live action thats supposed to be made.

Look at the last year's Dragonball Evolution and expect some similar crap. It will be like:

• So what movie should we do next?
• Well I was thinking, there's this cartoon that kids watch and stuff.
• What is it about?
• Oh, well, ah...you see...I don't know really.
• That's okay. Just go buy off the rights, have our writers think something that stupid kids will swallow. Regular stuff, you know?
• Yeah, yeah.
• Okay, do that and bring me script tomorrow so we can like, do the casting, budget and stuff.
• No problem.
• Oh, and tell the marketing department to start thinking about marketing campaign. Let them take their time.

Yes. that was my point. If Japan didn't suck so bad at 3d movies, they could have made it into one, or let hollywood do it. Given that they didn't mess with the story, or atleast fuddled with it as little as possible. It might work as a live-action movie.
