shanks devil Fruit?

We already saw Shanks swim but he also possesses the King's Haki. Maybe that explains why he's so powerful. However, as it has been twelve years since we saw him swim, maybe he did consume a devil fruit or maybe he didn't but I don't think he did. Only Oda knows

We can,t be sure if he got a devil fruit, but I don't think he ate one.
It's been a while since I read the beginning but didn't Shanks said that it was important for a pirate to be able to swim or something like that. If he did, that mean he didn't eat a devil fruit.
Like I said it's just a vague memory.
I also think it would be nicer if not every stong guy was a df user.

He was obviously joking.
It has been a while since chapter 1, so it's possible he has consumed a devil's fruit since then. However, I just get the feeling that he would be someone that refuses to eat a devil fruit. So, I don't think he has one.

C'mon guys, let's be serious. If Shanks were to have a devil fruit, then he would have consumed the Gomu Gomu fruit before Luffy did since it was his in the first place. Also he didn't really care about the DF that Buggy had back in the day. Look at Dark King Rayleigh, he's considered a legend and he doesn't have a DF.

His Haki is at the ultimate level, even Blackbeard declined taking him on at the end of the Waar at Marineford and he had control over two extremely powerful Devil fruit. I very much doubt Shanks has a Df ability on the basis of he doesn't need one. He was already a YonKou when he saved Luffy in East Blue and we haven't even seen him go all out in a fight. Overall until Luffy properly meets him in the New World of Black Beard goes looking for Shanks we will never know.

thus nope. no fruit for shanks, he would drain himself if he was a fruit user..
then again, it would be interesting if shanks actually IS a df user who uses those shoes to limit his power.. that would be purely badass.

Shanks doesn't need devil fruit power, he's already the world's strongest swordsman without it so why bother making himself unable to swim.
Haki > DF anyways, even Teach's weak against physical and haki attacks despite the double power ups.

I got the impression Shanks disapproves of devil fruit powers because the owners can't swim, and therefore, in his eyes, aren't real pirates (given that the definition of pirate in one piece seems to be any sailor who isn't a marine). Remember he was angry when he found out Luffy had eaten the gomu-gomu fruit, and none of his crew have shown any devil fruit powers. At sea, haki users have a massive advantage against most devil fruit powers.

@greydayk i believe Mihawk currently is the most Strongest Swordman, not Shanks

i doubt he has a devil fruit cause in the beginning of the manga, shanks saved luffy from that monster and didnt sink

After Shanks came back with his one arm Mihawk stop dueling with Shanks for the title, it was never decided which of the two was indeed stronger let alone Mihawk being the best or strongest for sure.
Mihawk has the "title" because he's one of the shichibukai but Shanks can still give Mihawk a good run for his money.
Mihawk's really just not interested in beating or losing to an one-armed swordsman since it's disadvantageous for him either way (winning seems like he should, and if he lost his rep would be ruined..or taunted by Shanks for the rest of his life... 😃 ).
Shanks actually was going to sell the fruit, since they were easily 100+ million berri a piece on the right market...
Shanks and Mihawk are at least on the same level, though I'd have to say Shanks is probably stronger (even just a little bit) because he has the CoC haki.
