well at first it didn't bother me but after reading manga for a while my reading list became longer and longer and on behlaf of my poor memory at the moment I don't want to add any new un-completed manga... I don't want to go over the "180 mark" on my reading list... and as my bad look would have it whenever I start reading a new manga the scanlation slows down XD....

I prefer complete manga!!!!

Yeah I know what you mean, it seems like all the good mangas that are completed are one shots or or too short. But there are some really good completed ones but I think I've read them all. There aren't enough good completed mangas out there for me! 🤢

I resorted to the quality of the manga, because if you look at some of the best manga series out there, they're already complete. So, I don't really jump into a series until it has at least a few chapters going.

I do know what you mean though. I'm waiting for a lot of series to end before I start reading them again. Naruto/Bleach/Gantz/Berserk/Vinland Saga. etc..

In general I try to stay away from uncompleted ones or ones that are on hiatus, but that has never really stopped me if the manga interests me enough.

Anyways, with the combination of mangaupdates lists AND the INCREDIBLY USEFUL all mangas reader google chrome extension, which notifies me of updates, I don't have to worry about remembering the manga.

Since I have like 40 that I'm waiting for and 19 that i haven't caught up with, it pains me to end early but I never regret it. Plus, if i forget the plotline of a manga, I can always reread it for maximum enjoyment all over again 😀

I try to only read manga which is either completed or is being scanlated with new chapters being released regularly, but sometimes the manga sounds so interesting I just can't help but pick it up and then wait anxiously for a new release.

Some manga I've started and put on hiatus until is ends, such as Naruto and Bleach where a single battle can last 10 chapters. It's annoying to have to read one fight over 2 months, so I'm waiting for them to end.

The pen is mightier than the sword...and considerably easier to write with.

As for me, I read every manga that interests me even if it's ongoing, complete, on hiatus, or dropped. If a good manga has already been completed in the origin country then I will search for the raws on the internet or buy the raws myself.
Nowadays I still get excited when I found an entrancing manga to read or when that manga I like is updated, despite the fact that I've already read so many manga. Let's assume that I can't get enough of it. Every times when an amazing story appears or incredible gorgeous art takes over my mind, it always feel like a new breeze.

You arn't the only one. I have a problem with official companies licensing series and then never finishing them. I always wait for licensed to be completed before I start buying them. As for ongoing series, I don't avoid them but I don't read too many of them. I'm only reading a grand total of 7 ongoing series and that's about all I can handle.

This is so irritating I don't even know where to begin. Hence why I have never bought anything that Tokyopop licensed because I knew that there would be a slim chance it would be complete. I was right seeing as it's gone under. Shame a lot of decent titles have been left to gather dust and never be completed unless another company decides to take it under its wing. They couldn't even complete a two volume series (Lives if anyone was wondering).

As for ongoing manga, I have so many ongoing manga on my reading list I've probably forgotten half of them, so the wait for the next chapter isn't as irritating as you think. I don't regret reading them. When I've caught up, I move onto something else. Sure the wait is annoying if you really enjoyed it, but lets face it, I'd be missing out on a lot of manga out there if I only read the completed ones.

im the same ... im right now against reading ongoing manga... but
._. i always end up reading ongoing ones i hate it cz like you say 5/6 years and is still not or completely scanlated or just finished by the author...
and the best titles are ongoing x__x
im ok with some cz the updates take a month or so but there are others i even forget im reading :/

When I got into manga, I was fine with it. But, I guess as I read more and more completed works, I realized how much more enjoyable it was to read a finished work.

You don't have to wait for translations and the cliffhangers don't stress you out all week (or all month) while you wait to find out what happens.

Also, it seems like every unfinished manga that I read is canceled on me. Either that, or the mangaka takes a hiatus to finish some stupid story that I could never get into.

My biggest problem now, is that I'm running out of completed manga that I find interesting...I've read them all so many times....
