This is so easy. Obviously the notebook. How do you get caught for writing down names in a freaking notebook. Oh wait if you are a retard like Kira.

The notebook is better because it has range and you don't have to be anywhere near danger. Plus if you erase the name and the person comes back to life.

Kira wasnt a retard he was a freaking genius, its just that his opponents were geniuses too. And where did you get the idea that erasing the name brings a person back to life? From that oneshot? Nothing brings someone back to life after their name is written in the death note. Also, death notes can only kill, geass can do many things. Like Crenshinibon said a normal person would be driven insane by the death note. And also if you consider the many types of geasses, it is way more useful than a deathnote, stopping time? reading minds? controlling peoples thoughts and memories?

I agree, a geass is more useful than a death note!
and if you want to kill someone you can use a geass too!

I'd like to elaborate on the fact that there are a lot of geass and you don't get to choose...therefore choosing the geass is a gamble...if you got something like Mao's geass you'd go insane as well...

id take that risk. plus, (although this doesnt matter) in the code geass world, you have nightmares. i always describe code geass as death note with gundams. its an upgraded version of it. 😃

Talking about Lelouch's Geass: Being able to command anyone to do your bidding would be so much more useful than a death note. You can have people kill themelves or other people, OR tell them to do anything else you want. Geass isn't limited to just death.)

When talking about any random Geass that you can't choose, I'd still choose Geass. Being able to control another in any way would be better than just killing them, in my opinion. And about the topic "You might go insane?" You could also go insane having a death note after killing people. Depends on the person.

geass gives you much more opportunites of course, but I don't like the idea of losing control of it. Nothing is perfect, so I'd go for geass

Death Note, without a question! It would leave less trace and I'd rather kill my enemies than use powers to control others. With Death Note no one knows who's behind it all, prolly will never even find out you're using it!

...of course, that excludes L.

Death Note without a question. I would honestly prefer the people I control to die than having them continue to live. I like to believe that in real life when people have blackouts they won't just brush it off 😛 and that more than one person has a perception of time.

I would go for geass-but do you mean lelouchs power or the geass power in general?? 😕
Anyway I would still go for geass 😀

Death Note, definitely.
I found it much easier to get into.
Mecha really isn't my thing.
And the battle scenes of Geass were unsatisfying to me.

Geass.

I mean, killing people gets boring after a while (if you are a truly demented psycho who actually likes killing in the first place), and the unpredictability makes Geass all the more intriguing. Plus, the shinigami is kinda creepy...

Geass hands down is far more interesting of a long term story

Well the initial question was

Since a lot of people liked the match up between Kira and Zero. I wanted to know which of their powers you'd choose to have if you were given the choice.

So I understand "Geass" in this thread as meaning "Lelouch's Geass".

I'd rather have Geass personally. A Death Note would be less risky if you wanted to kill a bunch of high ranking politicians and take over a country or something (though Geass would still easily let you do this, Lelouch severely underused his ability...), but for day to day life Geass would be beyond awesome. Any amount of money you want, get anyone around you to do anything you want, no guilt about having murdered people. In fact, since you aren't murdering people, you don't even have to be secretive: no one's looking for you

It's a tough gamble but the Geass ultimately allows for more possible varieties in manipulation and even of killing people.

Two completely different genres and series with two completely different protagonists.

As far as my personal opinion goes however, I enjoyed the story and character development of Code Geass while Death Note seemed too busy setting up Xanatos Roulettes to worry about such nonsense.

Geass, since it's more convenient than carrying and writing down on a notebook
