It's an understatement to say that there's a lot of manga out there. There's a manga on almost everything, on every subject, with every ridiculous plot line, in Japan. Emphasis on "in Japan". Us lowly English-reading-only people miss out on an awful lot in the manga world. Our honorable scanlators help us out a lot on that, but there's still a ton of manga that deserve to be experienced by English readers but can't. Earlier series from the 80s and before are most subject to this, with nationally-recognized classics being buried in obscurity this side of the fandom.

So what are some manga you would like to have scanlated? Perhaps something you were suggested on this website?

Here are my own:
I'm surprised how many of Osamu Tekuza's major works haven't been scanlated. Princess Knight is considered to be groundbreaking in the world of shoujo and genderbender in the opinions of many, but no one has picked it up. Some other (imo) important but unscanlated works of his are Ayako , Angel's Hill , and Apollo no Uta.

Ace wo Nerae is considered a classic in both shoujo and sports manga and the anime is at least relatively popular and known among early shoujo fans here, but no one has scanlated it.

U wa Uchuusen no U: This one is more of a personal wish. I'm a big fan of Ray Bradbury and would absolutely love reading a 1970s josei version of his works...

Joker e..... The person who suggested this to me (irl) described it as one of the earliest and best examples of genderbender shoujo.

A lot of shoujo mangas from the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's. A few of them, like Glass no Kamen, Rose of Versailles, Kaze to Ki no Uta, and Oniisama e are scanlated, but the rest of them like Thomas no Shinzou, The Star of Cottonland and Haikara-san ga Tooru, aren't.

Yeah, I think there is a similar topic about this.

I forgot about Thomas no Shinzou and Star of Cottonland! Some of my more literary-inclined Japanese friends have raved about them, and all I can do is wait jealously...

then it would be 1/2 Ouji and all works by Maria.

*by the way,one chapter[or more] of Princess Knight was translated once by shojo beat. [if we're talking about professional publishers, if it was fan to fan scanlations, then i do not know.]

That thread is talking about series that are already scanlated, but are currently moving at a slow pace/on hiatus. This is for series that have never been scanlated and don't seem like they ever will be, which is rather more desolate.

If it gets too similar, though, feel free to lock it. =)

Shoujo Beat translated a chapter of Princess Knight? I'm going to have to search that out now. >_o

There is a bilingual version of Princess Knight, as noted on the series information page. My brother has/had it; it's good but very very dated.

Just so you know Apollo no Uta has been scanned. Its not on this site because it wasn't done by a scanlation group but its on the internent.

Lessee, manga that I would like to have scanlated... well, that would be about 1300 series. So uh, yeah. It's basically everything on my wish list and sub-wish list that isn't scanlated (59.1% of the series on those lists are unscanlated, by the way).
I know that's a lame answer, but I don't really want to sift through them all right now to pick the ones I most want to see...

Thomas no Shinzou is currently being scanlated, though by anonymous group 😀

The Star of Cottonland is very good, one of my most favourite manga all the time. The anime is good (and completely subbed), still the manga is even better 😃
