I don't like hot drinks.

And hot chocolate doesn't taste like chocolate. It tastes like hot water.

D: you ruined the 100% streak 🤣

Well if you use water instead of milk, then yes, it usually doesn't taste like chocolate. It also depends what mixture your using.

I've had it with milk, and it still just tastes like hot water.

When I used the instant mixes, I wasn't too thrilled by hot chocolate. Then I found this recipe:
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon cocoa
1 tablespoon sugar

  1. Heat up the milk in a saucepan until a little steam comes out. Don't scald it or it'll be watery. Unless you like scalded milk.
  2. Put the powders in a mug
  3. Add a bit of the milk to the mug & mix it (if you put the powder in the liquid, I find that surface tension creates little bubbles of unmixed powder.*)
  4. Add the rest of the milk.
Optionally, add a tablespoon of creme de methe, almond liquer, etc. to flavor it. Or a bit of vanilla or almond extract.

It takes a bit of effort, but I think that making a double recipe is worth it.

*I believe that the proper chemistry term in an aliquot 🙂

I enjoy hot chocolate, but I cannot understand why anyone would put marshmallows into it.

I drink hot chocolate when I have some at home, but if I don't, then yeah... I don't go out of my way to get some.

I love hot coco in the winter! The last couple of years I've been trying new kinds of "real" coco. My favorite so far is Allegro's Organic Peruvian 68 coco, but I just bought a Dagoba coco that smells delicious.

Coco with schnapps is a tasty treat too; mint schnapps is my favorite, but I'm thinking that butterscotch schnapps will taste good too...yum! There is a coffee shop near that make a hot coco with schnapps that is to die for. Here's a recipe I found:

1 cup of hot chocolate
1 1/2 oz. peppermint/spearmint/not-fruity schnapps
whipped cream

  • pour the hot chocolate and schnapps into a warmed mug, stir, and top with whipped cream

(Schnapps is booze. The devil's very brew! In case you don't know.)

I could always go for hot chocolate, especially when there is marshmallows and vanilla extract involved. 😀

What only 3 votes for no? 😲

I don't like hot chocolate, therefore I voted no. I don't really like chocolate at all.

I like hot chocolate, but not to the point of drinking almost only that. I just enjoy the occasional cup sometimes. I mix it with water and milk (4:6, usually), 'cause I think it tastes better that way.
And I don't get the hot chocolate+marshmallows biz. It doesn't sound really tasty..
