looks or talent?

Look, it is SO unfair to have "looks or talent" for MUSIC... (especially when you consider that dancing and crowd charisma is more talent than looks)
How about Beauty Pageants? Looks or talent for that? 😉 ... well of course it's looks here, but it makes me wonder why they have a talent section at all...

when I listen to music and like it, as time goes the singer/ band look more handsome/beautiful for me.
so I pick talent.

My first reaction to this thread was "Is this a joke? Why necro this turd?"
But I guess it's a valid question when you step back and look at the music industry to see the criticisms on performer appearances or live performances, even when the music's good.
In either case, I like what I hear, looks and talent be damned. Talent helps, but you don't have to be particularly talented to make a good song, and I'd be lying if I said every band I listen to commanded the best of musical prowess.

Talent.
(Not to mention that extreme talent seems to make people more attractive, somehow)
A guy that can sing/play well becomes hot, and the girls become cool. Always seems to go that way for me.
So obviously talent is my choice.

Talent all the way. Full stop.
Extra rant:
I'm sick of those pop artists who hire behind-the-scenes people to write lyrics and music and all they do is sing the damn words written on paper.....and those lip-synchers!! If you're a singer, there's no need to hide your voice! Unless you're scared you ...

exactly my thoughts. o.o
I third that. Don't forget most of them can't even sing properly. = ="
So it's definitely talent.

It depends.
For kpop, I want looks because its primary function is to provide me plenty of eye candy. Admittedly, some kpop stars are talented in some way, but I don't take them very seriously.
Everything else needs talent and talent only. All other factors are subordinate.

Kpop can't be called a serious classification of music then. Talent is essential for musicians. Otherwise they wouldn't survive for long.

Looks
I've never really cared too much about songs - they provide background noise for me, so as long as it's not absolutely hideous, I generally tune it out. When I actually focus my attention on music/music related stuff, I'm usually looking at music videos. If I'm without a reference point (a recommendation, for example), I usually just go- "Oh~ He looks hot!" or "Waah she's pretty!" and go from there. So my favorite artists are generally people I find attractive 😀

Talent is attractive 😉
Go to work, send your kids to school;
Follow fashion, act normal;
Walk on the pavement, watch T.V.;
Save for retirement, obey the law.
Repeat after me: I am free.

Talent, as long as I like the music I don't give a shit about the rest.

Talent. honestly, talent.
if you've got the looks but no talent at all, please, by all means. do NOT start any career.
it is just... idk, sucks to see talents are not noticed by people.
