Male lead blushes in nearly every panel... so teasable!

Lol at the "uke in a shoujo manga" comment. I suppose if he were an uke, he'd be the "rambunctious wild type" who's also a tsundere.

I found him strangely cute and I like how the more experienced female lead would never lose her calm and just tease him constantly all the way till the end.

In contrast to the usual inexperienced male / experienced female pairing, the guy is actually capable of making a move on the girl. Though, since he's a tsundere, he somehow manages to mess it up, lol.

Nice and refreshing. (The guy's parting lines were actually really surprising, especially if you read a lot of shoujo/josei. You'll see what I mean.)

PS. The kisses were surprisingly hot/smutty for a non-smut work. Would totally like to see more of that. xD

what is an uke doing in a shoujo manga

LOL. actually i liked the novelty of this. there needs to be more shy tsundere guys in shoujo manga. im SO sick of the rapey controlling bastards that is the norm in a lot of series.

also as a fujioshi this guy totally hits all of my buttons @___@ *nosebleed*

definitely had a lot of weaknesses at the end. like, really? did we need a random misunderstanding for the sake of it being standard shoujo? not all shoujo needs instances of drama-rama. i would have been perfectly fine with the female teasing and flirting with the male lead forever 8D i wish the guy had a little more confidence to be more honest with his feelings instead of causing a stupid shoujo misunderstanding.

WHOAH, this also qualifies, i guess, as one of the ultra rare shoujos that actually references male sexual desire. it was used in a comedic way, BUT STILL. more of this please, shoujo manga! don't be shy ;D

Didn't liked it

The description is misleading. The guy seems to have some interest in the girl, while the girl thinks that the guys around her are childlish, and doesn't really care what they do. She is always calm and has a "I know what is happening and what should be done" actitude. She acts like she has lots of experience, calmly saying whatever she wants.

I don´t get why they would like each other. The boy wants the girl to look at him not like a child, and the female lead seems to just go with his flow, as if she know why the guy do or say what he does (like she is watching over a 5 year child). The female MC seems to just be playing around with him, like she really not like him and is just enjoying his interest in her. It just doesn't feel like she likes him.

The manga seems to lack some transition panels here and there

specialy before the watermelon sequence. By the way, what the guy was doing is a japanese custom usually done in the beach.

The author tries too hard to make the heroine 'different' It's a poor attempt, succeeding in being the opposite of what they intend. She's too pretentious to be 'mature'.

I couldn't see the motivation in romance at all. At most, it was simply physical attraction. The paneling was terrible, but the dialogue even more so that I found myself scoffing at literally every page. It's just ridiculous.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
So, like, the guy was breaking a watermelon for whatever random reason and the girl comes in and he then proceeds to break it (blindfolded) (wtf). He tells her to stay because she wanted to eat it (but she never said that).

A: they didn't care anymore
B: they scrapped so many ideas that they forgot what they were even trying to convey
C: he's a mind reader

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
So like after some 5 minutes or something he finally breaks it and then there's this random cheery moment like some revelation's coming on.

This oneshot has a strong, cool female lead--very refreshing. It is quite short, which is a shame, but that doesn't mean that the story itself isnt satisfying. It is a light hearted and good read. I enjoyed it very much. The mc is my favorite part. The art is also really good.

Shoujo doesn't often give you an attractive, mature, confident female lead like this - especially one who seems so comfortable being lusted after by the boys (although the mangaka did throw in one of those 'I'd only do it with someone I love' comments too).

For the most part, this is a fairly standard shoujo one-shot, with all the weaknesses you'd expect, but I thought the idea of that confident girl and the shy immature boy was interesting, and has potential. I'm certainly going to look at this mangaka's other work.
