not as bad as people say

i think its unique because the uke is a disabled person which isnt a common theme. However, I think the whole guardian-child trope is a bit iffy when it comes to this kind of subject matter but Im also desensitized as all heck so im just saying its not as gross as some people think it is. Also the art style is pretty.

I should have known after reading the mangaka's comment about "real men" that I wouldn't like it, but I was willing to give it a try. Buut it's just way too problematic and unhealthy of a relationship for me, although the art is very pretty.

This story is exactly what yaoi should be like: funny, cute, romantic, with a hint of realism. I love this manga, I hope some group could pick up this project cause it's so worth reading it.

Im a health care professionals so I cant bring myself to like the characters.
The main character completely failed as a doctor.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Not just bc hes dating his patient but various reasons, playing favoritism, cutting on his patients even though they are short in staffs, talking to a pharmacy person about something not related to work during working hours (how did she get in there?), not just forgot to switch off his phone but answer it (this could be fatal to the patient who just had the surgery), got into a ambulance to get his lover (NO). And he also did not wish for the patient's well-being but wants him to depend on him. This kid drown when he wasnt around, if he is a real doctor, he should know this is seriously wrong, not to feel happy about this. Doctors like this give me goosebumps.

The kid, Im sorry to say this but I've seen kids with similar situations but they're strong and learn to live their lives. If every patient is like this kid, I'll quit my job. I've seen similar cases and the patients coped with their situations really well, I found them admirable. If the kid is like this, this is where a psychologist comes in. Or if my lover is as not understanding as him, I'll quit HIM, not my job.
And of course, no nice people around the uke. Oh please, have a little faith in humanity, will u? Im sure there are plenty of nice doctors and people out there.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The plot twist with the girl was also forced and poorly done. Just bc her teacher told her to and she pitied him, she kissed the guy that she thinks annoying? Very surreal

Uuuuh.... very, very, very standard yaoi.

Detailed notes:
1) standard uke-seme procedure. Uke is drawn...suspiciously young, but in this case, older than they're supposed to be, while seme...looks in his mid 20s.
2) I see no character development. /sigh
3) And it seems every people in the world are simply being cruel to the uke, every friends are backstabbing, abusing, inconsiderate bastard, and every other people is condescending and looking down at him. Yeah, right, standard uke procedure.

It's really, really, really standard in every sense of the word, art aside, in which it's quite good, hence the 6.

Worth Looking for The Rest of the Story

DramaQueen has only released 2 volumes so far, so my thoughts are only based on the those two volumes.
I would definitely like to follow the next turn in this story and learn the ultimately end that the mangaka has chosen for our two stumbling along protagonists.
This wasn't one of my favourite mangas - so far! I have to add that since it's not fair to offer a final opinion on the story when the story is not even half completed. The development of the human phenomena of one person wanting to keep another completely dependant on oneself to ensure one's own security within a relationship was developed with a delicate and believable beauty and sadness. It was touching but a little too slowly-paced for my likes.
The art was fantastic in a few scenes. A scene where Naoyuki is being saved from drowning while swimming comes to mind instantly. The way the poses and movement was drawn was poetic.

This manga will inspire you with its gorgeous artwork. Yeah, I have to say, not many can draw love scene as beautiful as OOMINE Shouko did. The scene in chap 5 is my favourite.

The content? It's very controversial, as some find Naoyuki too stubborn and dependent, but others might think of the great possessive love they give each other (I'm one of those smile ) I must admit, sometimes i feel annoyed with Naoyuki and even Ryouichi because he does too many trivial stuff for Naoyuki and as a result, Naoyuki could handle nothing by himself. But it's sweet sweet couple. Love, drama & fun, it's romance smile

This story is told kind of backwards. Volume one takes place after the characters have already bean in a relationship for around 3-4 years. Volume two tells how they came together.

I felt that Ryouichi Sumi did not develop at all as a character. I also felt that the plot didn't go anywhere. The plot was set up as 'Akiyoshi is growing up and becoming independent' but at the end of 2 volumes, no such thing happens, and when it begins to happen, it stops.

I was disturbed by the age differences between the two main characters. Ryouichi Sumi must be around 25, and Akihoshi is 12. No mater how much you supposedly love each other, that dose not make having sex with a little kid OK. In my opinion, it would have bean much more romantic if Ryouichi had loved Akihoshi enough to wait (yes, shocking that sometimes, not having sex can be the most romantic choice). Akihoshi acts his age, he is somewhat spoiled and hard to get along with.

All in all, not a whole lot of content, what is there is a bit disturbing, and the characters and plot don't seem to go anywhere. Despite that, I do want to read volume three, since that has bean set up as the time that Akihoshi really gets a chance to be independent (+ grow up), and I want to see what happens.

I really love this story, particularly how they are so posessive of each other. The uke is not ordinary at all like we are used to seeing, he speaks his mind and demands attention when he wants it...actually he is just as twisted as the seme. Their bond is strong and yeah many difficulties arise but i love how they just face it head on....ah i cannot wait to keep reading more, for now the raws will just have to do.
