So light and so beautiful by morphin007 on July 26th, 2009, 5:50am

It's a really good manga about love.
There isn't really a story but you can't be bored, maybe a little too much sweet. The best point is that every story take place in the same japan, i mean some char interact with another or live in the same city/building.
And all along there is futaba/yuuki story who evolve step by step in each volume =)
I m not really found of 1 chapter story but i really enjoyed those.
You should read Boys'Be if you enjoyed this manga (and i don't understand why boys'be isn't in the recommandation, it's just exactly the same xD)

Salad Days by GodOfMadness on April 20th, 2009, 8:20pm

When I used to read manga I used to feel nothing about the characters, either they got hurt or something, i fell nothing for them just enjoy the story but after reading salad days, i started have strong emotions about the characters and the story, i don't know if i'm glad of reading it or not but it's a great manga, I recommand it.

THE BEST! by strayed on January 27th, 2009, 8:59am

this is the best romance manga i ever read! it has a good story yet ended so beautifully~ no complaint about it! just perfect!
i even bought all volumes of the original licensed SALAD DAYS manga! this is one of my fave collection for romance manga, while ichigo 100% in the 2nd place.
i supposed to put SALAD DAYS and ichigo 100% in the same level, but ichigo 100%'s ending made me put SALAD DAYS in the 1st place !
the mangaka should make 'SALAD DAYS 2' rather than 'The School of Water Business'...
c'mon boys and girls, quickly go to the nearest bookstore, and buy the complete series! lol~

I think I read it to fast by Circlecrash2 on June 17th, 2008, 12:59am

Maybe I'm old-fashioned in my thinking. Maybe I'm not right for typing the following comments. If you ever had a romantic heart as a man I would say read and learn. These things can happen. Love is the greatest mystery of all.

Lots of oneshots by evangelion2727 on April 21st, 2008, 12:15pm

Man it takes some determination to read this series in one go like i did. It is really different from reading a series with the same characters and a series with different characters also every other chapter. You also will need to have a good memory to remember the characters that will pop up every few chapter. I had a lot of fun reading this series and each of the oneshots were enjoyable.

Beautiful by AKLR on February 1st, 2008, 5:18am

So Beautiful and Bittersweet.

My only near complaint being that the plot twists in some of the stories around the middle were a little easy (for me) to guess, otherwise excellent

Must read! by RilleL on January 12th, 2008, 1:44pm

This is the ultimate romantic manga. No doubt about it.
To put it like this: of all the 200+ titles i've read, this is the only manga that have made me close to crying, or feeling strong emotions about the characters. The best romantic manga I've ever read!

Much Like The Description by JJTang on November 1st, 2007, 1:37am

Just like the title supposedly implies; this is a very refreshing read. The stories were very heartwarming and touching. The plots were somewhat clichéd, but that's love for you. There were many original stories too though. It got a little confusing since it skips through various stories in a single volume, but regardless, it was great.

I especially enjoyed Futaba & Yuuki's story that spanned most of the entire work.

Thank you by panoz on September 8th, 2007, 7:36am

Just finished reading it.. The only thing i would like to say is a big "thank you" to Inokuma Shinobu sensei for one of the best, if not the best, romance mangas ever.

There isn't much to add to the previous comments. Many stories, many happy endings, and a few broken hearts, is the sum of the series. Although the story around Futaba and Yuuki is the dominant, the rest are not lacking. A very enjoyable read, i'm definitely going to go through it again, and once i go to Japan (coming summer hopefully) i will certainly buy it.

Inokuma-sensei, hontoni arigatou !!

Short and Sweet by merlockmagus on July 27th, 2007, 4:41pm

Unlike most romance manga, Salad Days isn't about one or two main characters, but instead a whole slew of them. Yuuki and Futaba's relationship is the most prominent, and their relationship just goes to show that romance can go a long way.

To me, the most enjoyable thing about this manga is the brevity of its stories. Inokuma Shinobu doesn't beat around the bush, he quickly develops characters to get to all the delightful (or heartbreaking) parts in 2-3 chapters.

However, I do have one qualm: way (emphasis on the way) too many guys and girls fall in love with each other at the same time, tell each other about his or her "crushes", and then regret not asking the other out regardless. It's a little cliché where the boy finds out that the girl he likes is secretly harboring a crush on him as well, only to be crushed because she gives up on it when she finds out he also has a crush... get what I'm saying? Yeah, but on the whole, this manga was definitely awesome!
