This is a story about the little people in a big war and how they are trying to survive. None of the characters are likeable or endearing, but we still read because they are real and they are human. The art is top notch of course, very beautiful and a treat for the eyes.

This was definitely one of the better works from the author. Less about insane and random philosophical topics but more on the atmosphere and insanities of human nature during times of distress.

Another of Matsumoto's Greatest

I can't deny anything from this author. I love his work. He reminds me of Douman Seiman or Asano Inio. This work sticks with his knack for tragedies. He writes Mental Instability as true to form as I have ever encountered in a manga. It is like a dream-state. Matsumoto's protagonists shows life goes on even when you have mental health issues. You are not a pariah. This protagonist uses his 'issue' as a positive. All of Matsumoto's works I've read captured that feeling to me. I'll get off my soapbox because that's probably not the author's intentions. Even so, it is as clear as day to me.

The story plays out beautifully, but I'll admit it's pretty graphic. Give it a try. It is short.

Also I don't want to ruin this for anyone, but if you want a happy ending go away. This is a relatively realistic warzone, and thus its the worst place on earth... people are being driven insane by grief, everything goes to crap, and even nice people are corrupted by it..... one of the saddest things I've ever read.

This was actually a really good manga, don't let the different styled art put you off. There is alot of sex and violence but its not "useless violence", Matsumoto uses it in a way to show a town filled with war.

It's for me by far the best work of matsumoto jiro. Give it a try. It is a beautiful story. If you're a teen, i do not recommend it, not only because of all the sex scene but it may be hard to hunderstand this.

But if you're more mature, do not be afraid of the sex part. this manga is a lot more than sex and violence. The rudeness and depravity are there to describe a society that is "uncivilized" just like the title say.

I truly believe that this manga is a piece of art. I may be an idiot but the strory realy moved my heart.

An alluring series which has a universal theme relatable to today's society.

It takes a thinker to analyze this manga and take apart it's elements to understand its core.

The thing I dislike the most of this manga is its art. It's not much different from B&W european comics. Also the way the plot is developed is kind of weird.
