Princess Hanaka

Description

Hanaka has never stayed at any particular place for too long because of her grandma's crystal ball. After hearing the news that they'll be packing their bags again, she cried herself to sleep. During the night, she heard a sweet harmony and dreamed of sleeping in a flower bed. The next day, as she was on her way to say goodbye to her friend, a trio appeared and identified her as "Princess Hanaka." They demanded the Laga Star, which she had no clue about. At the same time, a guy with silver hair and aquamarine eyes appeared confessing his love for her.

Yea...I feel like the mangaka was going for comedy or something. I just ended up laughing at all the scenes cause they were either super ridiculous or just overly cheesy. The ending was alright since I didn't care for either male leads so it didn't matter to me who she did or didn't end up with. Overall this was eh, nothing interesting.

One thing I have to admit is that the artwork is really beautiful. However, the plot is just plainly stupid, but I still enjoyed reading it.
OH. I HATE THE ENDING! WHAT'S WITH IT? Really can't believe I really did read the whole volume and the ending just didn't solve anything.

There was potential, but story did not develop at all.

Lame. There's not even a sex scene to accommodate the smut factor. Also, polygamy is shit.

Why Does It End There...?

The story was good, the art was beautiful and the bishies were hot... and then it ended there. Why would it end THERE, of all places? I was just really getting into the competition between the two and then... BAM! Ending. And not even a solid ending. I wish there was another volume... or another chapter... or something, anything, that would give this story more closure. Other than that, I really liked it!

This manga... wow. I barely made it through, and there was only one volume. You can tell from the very start that the manga is totally cliched. They immediately introduced her love interest, and revealed the intentions of the "mysterious character", and you could predict the whole story from there. Everything was overly convenient, I mean, they all meet each other the grandma gets kidnapped (not really), they head off to the magical world, hidden intentions reveal, grandma freed, girl finds out that she likes both guys equally..... What did that all lead up to exactly? What was the point of all that? Her heart was so easily captured by both of the guys. Excuse my language if this offends anyone, but she acted like a total slut! She was too easy! Also, in my opinion, the artwork was absolute crap. The bodies were out of proportions, and the characters' heights kept changing. Every time the girl got picked up, it looked like they were defying gravity or something. The clothes were overly smooth, especially Hanaka's uniform- it looked like her clothes were shrink-wrapped to her body. And what the heck was up with using the "Laga Star" as a belly piercing?! That was freaking huge! How heavy was that thing?!

Haa... though I wonder if my hatred towards her is biased because of the plagiarism incident between her and Takashima... though I personally think that's reason enough not to like her as a mangaka. Perhaps if she had been caught, I would feel less hostility, but since she won the case, and Takashima was even forced to stop working...

On second thought, no, it was a really bad manga.

The story is the WORST ... but it got BISHIES!!!!!!

The plot is stupid!
The female lead is stupid! [and she's a two-timer!]
The old granny is a magician that can make magic!
Even though the story is short, it's so poor it became repetitive.

...but who cares?! I only read the series because of the bishies!!! Can't even recall their names... but the silver-haired one is dazzling!

I think that the mangaka must be really short of guys, to become this desperate to let that stupid chick end up with both. It shows the mangaka was reckless, and ended up not imagining/deciding/creating a decent ending and let it term that way. Lazy....

So, in the end, I"ve decided to rate it like this:

hate hate hate and ah...hate?

Yeah, not enough hate to be said about this manga. First of all, her art (kayono) went down alittle compared to her other works. Next the begining, middle and ending (especially the ending) was so messed up. Not enough lovable characters (ok, no lovable character at all actually, which is a major minus dont you think?), so no character development, which makes even the repititve and hateful inuyasha look good.

Though i do dislike her disrespect for manga (i mean, to be plagarising other mangakas' work is a sign of disrespecting the mangakas work AND manga itself. yeah, beat that), anyway, yeah i dislike her for that but i do not judge this story with the mangaka's actions. This story itself made me sick to the stomach and felt like i have wasted my time with something not only not worth it, but so totally leave me with a bad aftertaste (bad ending, no character development, everyones a b*tch, etc.)

Oh if anyone is curious about her plagarism you can find some of her copied works here: (annoyed me most would be ebcause my love for yaoi is unmeasurable, and she copied a work from Wild Rock, a all time fave yaoi manga)

i was stupid enough to read this (I thought the beginning looked cliche and harmless...).

This was a waste of 5 chapters. Even art could not save this plot. Gave this a 1 as well b/c of my disrespect for this mangaka (her plagiarism).

The girl was way too fickle... I never quite understood why the guy tried to sell off his first love, and why she didn't end up with him, and was the red-head going out with the senpai girl? And what the hell, two guys making out with one girl IS NOT A MAN'S SHOWDOWN. IT'S STUPID. Kind of a disappointment. Good art though.

still enjoyable : yes

except for the fact that it has no ending. the story stops at the end of volume 1 but i wouldn't consider that an ending. ah well, enjoy a fluff story with nice art for those times when you just want something brain dead.
