Popuri lives in a small town with only her older brother and the many stray/abandoned animals she has a habit of bringing home. On the day that her parents were to return, after being separated for a long time, she picks up yet another stray animal. But this animal is not just any stray, it's what's known as an evil eye--a dangerous creature(?) possessing many uncanny powers.
1 Volume (Complete)

The premiss of the story seemed like it could work, but the characters drag it down to the point of being painful. The heroine's thought process doesn't really make sense. She finds a supposedly evil creature, and to protect it from a hunter, runs away from home. Problem is she's a few bricks short of a load and she doesn't even have the excuse of being tough enough to look after herself to make up for the lack of an upstairs. Interactions with human characters are strained and don't really make all that much sense. I guess food makes everything better.

Read it if really bored, it's short so you wont be wasting too much time. Otherwise you're not missing anything.
sigh from chap 1 the main character tries to care for other ppl but at the same time doesn't consider others. Well, maybe she just cares for animals and doesn't really try to consider other people around her?
I remember reading one of her earlier works exactly because of the flashback to this guy with a gun who has "evil eyes" and wears these ridiculous sunglasses.
