what can i say? by Da Red One on February 9th, 2010, 4:01am

| I fell in love with this manwha...the art tripped me up for a minute or two, but i got used to it...it was sweet and funny. a couple of times i found myself laughing at K's expressions... the concept of wishes was just perfect...so many consequences and joys come from wishes...and my wish is that i'd read this earlier. you can almost guess the story's end from the beginning, but don't let that deter you...it still comes as a surprise.... Spoiler (highlight to view) i just wonder WTH was K's real name!!!!!

so this manhwa is definitely romance-packed. i found the comedy to be quite funny. the first few volumes are mostly about other couples but they are interesting stories. still, at the end of each chapter, there is progress in the relationship between the two main people. the last two volumes or so finally focus on them and i liked the ending
though i still wonder why the girl's brother is so special. artwork is decent; i got used to it quickly. i think i'm used to it from all the hwang mi ri works. but anyway, it's good stuff :-)

Whimsical masterpiece by Odette on January 25th, 2010, 1:24am

This manhwa is not for everyone, but it can be very rewarding for those who enjoy things that are different.
Be aware that it takes a while to take off: this is a story where the sum is greater than its parts. It takes a while for each episode to seep in, settle down like a layer in your psyche, and gradually turn into a watercolor painting of emotions. The theme of this painting is not really any particular people, but the idea of Love, which here includes familial love as well as romantic love. (Pardon the cheesy painting metaphor, but it's the best way I could describe it.)
Before starting this manhwa, you might ask yourself what you are looking for. I liked this series without caring too much about its flaws because it had hard-hitting substance underneath the strangeness. I was patient with the fact that the main couple was not really focus of the story. The first few volumes may give off a rough-around-the-edges, disjointed feeling because of the seemingly unrelated stories, which at one moment might be a dramatic tale about aliens traveling through time and space, at another moment a comic interlude about high school students. But if you suspend your need for logic and order, you might feel your mind expand in an exquisite dreamworld, full of wit, charm, and poetic twists of fate.
When I finished the last chapter, tears unexpectedly welled up in my eyes. It was not a tragic ending, but the beauty of it left a deep impression on me.

The story line in some parts is confusing and I feel a lack of connection with the main characters. The art seems to get better through the story but I have to say it is still not the best I've seen.

Spoiler (highlight to view) Well, i can't say i loved it, but i do like it...It just that i'm not satifided by the ending!! D: I was like.. "WUT?! this is the end!?!?" -sigh- it was fun reading about the clients' story and thing.. BUT wut about Jin and K's 'LOVE STORY?!?! I wanted MORE!! a lot more romance...!!! Seriously the manhwa didn't show any romance between them UNTILL like the last two volumes!! it didn't even feel like Jin loved K that much..To me it seemed like Jin loved K as a brother or sumthing.. O_O"" hahaxD -sigh- But i gotta say the rest was pretty good, && the characters are all so wonderfully drawn!! They are so HOTT!! HAHAA Well, I do recommand it, even thoo i was a little disappointed....HMMMM well all the other part was goodd!! > : DD

Good for a Manhwa by Amber3 on January 8th, 2010, 7:57pm

After reading all the wonderful comments that people have written here about this manhwa I went and had a look at this manhwa. I was not disappointed, this is probably the best manhwa I've read up to this point and I tend to avoid manhwas on purpose as they tend to have a strong heroine who goes through a lot of 'character development' and turns into a total wimp all from some horrible guy and well that’s it. From this manga it is not the case, lets just say it’s like a mixture of XxxHolic and one of your favorite romance shoujos (you take your pick). It has a very good pace and I wasn’t left thinking that the character development was too slow at any point. It does tend to be tear-jerking though but even if you don’t like sad stories you should try it and believe what all those other (good) comments say. You may find the main female character annoying at first but she slowly changes throughout the story. What one of the comments says about the art is true though – the artist does draw large feet and hands. >_>

It's a good read but sadly they stopped scanlating it and also tokyopop dropped it T_T. The characters are hilarious, and also the stories are sad but with some happy endings >.>. Ending was cute though ^^.

one of the best manga out there! by asianromance on April 7th, 2009, 8:14pm

and i can be pretty picky about manga.
i agree with all the positive comments mentioned in other people's comments. This is definitely a manga I can imagine myself picking up time after time and experience the same emotional impact I had felt when I first read it. Great mix of comedy, drama, romance, and the supernatural. It is perfectly balanced and there are no slow parts. I enjoyed reading about the author's mentality (she has a note in the beginning of each volume i think)- how she doesn't like all those sneering wish-granters who would grant a wish but twist it around for their own amusement. She writes about a magician who would try to grant people their wishes without hurting them. And there are just so many twists that grab at your heart in a good way. Haven't read a manga this well-written in a while.

One of my favorite by yuko_1909 on November 8th, 2008, 4:37pm

'I Wish' is a manhwa I have read many times. I can't remember how many. It's something like xxx holic but more romantic and comical. The art isn't the best, but is decent. The story line is a masterpiece. The author did such a good job on mixing comedy and seriousness. It begins as a more comcial manhwa in the beginning and the middle, but as it reaches the end, it become more serious and heart breaking. It will take a while for the whole story line to appear, but you won't regret taking that time. It's one of my all time favorite manhwas.

Starts iffy but grows by Acerbus Wings on September 11th, 2008, 10:14pm

I bought the first two volumes on a whim since it reminded me of xxxholic premise wise and then ended up downloading all the scanlated chapters afterwards (up to first chapter, volume 7). The first volume was dry imo and the heroine annoyed me a bit (luckily, she either grew or I got attached to her somehow). However, by second and third volume the series really starts taking off.
What makes this a good series is that the small, episodic sections are well written and how the wishes are handled is sweet at times (my favorite way was with the story of the girl and her mute love) while dropping enough hints to keep you interested in the overall arc. Overall, I'd say force your way through the first volume and keep reading because it's worth the read.
