A different love story with a not so common protagonist by charsiewpau on October 18th, 2009, 10:37am

When one of the lead characters is a seiyuu / voiceactress, this manga drew me to it due to it being an uncommon theme.

Reading it has given me some insight to the work of a seiyuu, and the hardships endured as she climbs to the top.

Then it became a staple romance story after the lead joined the ranks of senior seiyuus, and for me, this is a sign that the manga turned for the worse.

Overall, a good read, and since it has not finished or exhausted it's premise, I think it's a recommendable read.

A serious love story this is not, although the different plot devices / a.k.a. new character encounters always ends up being almost sexual, but never really so.

Good, but not great.

Not so good by Darknemo2000 on May 23rd, 2009, 1:29pm

Spoiler (highlight to view)
It is not about the whole concept of cheating that was disturbing, but more the fact that she does not seem to have learned anything from it nor did she had talk about it with her boyfriend later, but just reverted to her old cheerful attitude as if it was nothing.

That is what I find to be rather disturbing.

Other than that - mediocre manga, with weak characters, dragging plot and overused jokes. Nothing new, nothing good. Mediocre to it's core.

Why the scene is detestable. by harmonious on May 17th, 2009, 11:45pm

Spoiler (highlight to view)
She cheated on him. She let that guy sexually fondle her and would have let him go all the way. Afterward, she just goes back to her old cheery self as if nothing had happened. No remorse, no regret, no hatred for herself or the guy. It is like she learned absolutely nothing from the experience. It was as if the whole idea of cheating on her boyfriend didn't phase her.

Unfaithfulness is in the mind as well as physical. I don't care what excuses there are, you just don't cheat on your significant other.

why most people detested the scene by hikka on May 12th, 2009, 9:58am

well, i think most people most comment instantly after they read ch24, if they kept reading next chapter, they'll know they didn't do anything at the end. so overall, i don't think its that big of a problem, since nothing happen, which they didn't get up to C, they only did B while skipping A...

If you really want to have a discussion, you should post this on the forums instead.

As for the manga. Well, it's not all that great, but it's not bad either. Not much development. But I'll wait for it to finish before going past volume 4.

Being Mature... by silencer on April 28th, 2009, 9:24pm

@ CassiusOS above:
Spoiler (highlight to view)
NO , i don't really want a discussion, just want to give my opinion about what people think (like people can do in their comment, i know it's unusual), i don't say it great, either. The story does have character development (i think),probably you think it's not much but, well, enough for this genre, just read the it and see how they live and improve themselves)

...is what you need to go through this manga, people should quit whining about what the heroine did...
Spoiler (highlight to view)
you think she is unfaithful? then do you understand the story ? about how a girl would feel when someone who supported her a lot in the past, and got severely injured to protect her ?more over he is the one that she admires...feeling of being in debt to someone could seriously confuse your mind, if you had any conscience...and she was deceived...although i think she is simple hearted and stupid when she thought that giving herself up to Yamada could help him relieved...but the fact that her personality development is what makes this manga interesting, however i hope she won't be more stupid in the future

...is that so hard to understand ? if so, then you probably think later on the manga kept on going with only light, easy chapters, like nothing ever happened but since it's a secret, what more do you expect to happen?it'd be absurd if the next chapter keep messing up things from the previous arc when it already ended,Also, from the beginning, dramatic romance is one of the properties of this manga, so the pace can change from lightly slow to something "dark" any time.

@zeds and someone else: Alas,i really wish people would stop watching manga just by looking at the pictures and got freaked out just because something "complicated" happened.
And about the male protagonist, you think he's an idiot, but i swear to god that his idiotic level is better than tons of main characters in other mangas at the same genres, and thank god, he is NOT pathetic (at least until now), he does have development in his personality, getting cooler with each chapter, i really expect he won't let me down.

The plot is average but potential, although the mangaka should really pay more attention to development for other characters, not just the main, the art is..well, good.

Recommend this manga to anyone above 18, whose brain and heart, normally, can afford dramatic situations, and who don't simply drop the whole story when something they don't expect happened (you guys really remind me of some people who dropped Gantz when Kei kurono died then came back to read it and think it's awesome 0_o)

Ch.24 by GodOfMadness on April 13th, 2009, 2:31pm

Dropped this manga after chapter 24. The girl is easy and stupid, she's one of the protagonists, that's why it sucks and she acts all cheery with the main male protagonist, I'm hoping chapter 24 backfires on her in future volumes and he gets another girlfriend, though I wouldn't know since I dropped it.

Why so serious? by SnooSnoo on March 10th, 2009, 5:06am

I don't see why so many people are raging over Chapter 24 and bashing Aka for not being faithful. The character was guilty over the recently transpired events. Rather harsh to just suddenly drop a series due to ONE chapter.

And I can see why the mangaka went back to fun and light-hearted chapters later on. It's basically a change of mood. They can't just keep hanging onto that issue, can't they.

ok lets clear somethings up by Brainskull on February 18th, 2009, 11:00am

Ok i haven't read Rec in a long time and having some down time decided to take look and i saw that "that" scene was a big issue for ppl., ok its not as bad as some ppl. make it out to be. True that compared to the rest of the manga which is light and fun, it was dark and out of place
Spoiler (highlight to view)
also yamada doesn't fully goes through with it, he cant lower him self to that lvl thank god
but having read darker stuff *cough sundome *cough it merely got my attention. I feel the author was just using this as way to strengthen their relationship and probably got burned by his fans cause of it and went right back to his light and fun style. If anything consider this a caution the manga gets dark sometimes so for those light readers WATCH OUT! senin, mature, drama can be a nasty combo.

you know "what" can always happen by faltonico on January 21st, 2009, 10:42pm

@zeds: life is like that >_> ...

but i wanted to drop the series not because what happened wasn't something good, but, because the mangaka kept on going with the next volume with light, easy go lucky episodic chapters ONLY, leaving things as they had never had happened, almost as if he was trying to make you forget it. (possibly an editors move, so i'm not sure who i have to flame > : ( )

i really can't recommend this manga to anyone, and it is NOT because it is A BAD read, but because i still can't shake the feeling "that" chapter left me XD
