When she said "this manga took 2 months to finish" I'm assuming she meant "the first solo story" & not "the whole book" because goddamn this is really good art if she spit this out in the amount of time most mangaka only get out two chapters. The character art anyway, she actively avoids backgrounds entirely 90% of the time.

There's lots of inconsistencies with the first couple between the first two chapters, like personality & wing size. Hotei goes from a masculine-enough tsundere to a sniveling woman by chapter 2.

8 years after she made this, she started doing Tiger & Bunny doujinshis, & boy can you not read this after seeing them & not see Hotei & Suzaku as Tiger & Bunny....Especially since her most-known T&B DJ has the exact same title as chapter 2.

The two doujinshis for the first couple suggest she had enough material to make Devil x Devil a standalone oneshot with no unrelated stories, so I'm not sure why she had to release them as dounjinshis instead of published works.

My favorite story was "Start From the Fingertips." Your typical rich slutty bossy uke & his obedient seme story where the rich boy's parents fall on hard times. Well, I never get tired of those, & it was some of her better story telling.

My higher rating than would be usual is for the story with the master and butler. The demon (title) story was cliche and kind of cheesy at times, but the master and butler story was twisted and dark; that was a huge change from the first story and sort of nice to read. I regretted that there wasn't more to it. The last story about friends was also my type since I love friends falling in love stories.

Perhaps to some, they can call these stories "love".
In my perspective only the first story had any plausible/believable 'love' as such. A fickle, love of convenience, but none the less, I felt that the relationship actually was in perspective one of (sorta) equals, with the seme having to pay up a bit in return.

Otherwise the master/slave story was sickening at best. It had nothing short of disgust.
Then the last story was in my point of view, even more riveting than the master-slave. This is probably because the master-slave story in some way, from its very setting could foretell that it wouldn't end well, yet at least both characters had gotten their laughs, both were twisted. But the last story started out nicely about a pair of childhood friends, but then *spoilers ahead*



But well, what do I know! The rest of the world thinks otherwise so screw me and my morals. I obviously shouldn't be reading this type of manga...Though I am. And I have a right to warn others who potentially think that these stories are nice little 'romances' that contain 'love'. They don't come close. Maybe stockholm syndrome? I guess that's what I see anything beyond chapter 2.

Chapter 5 was probably my favourite ^^ very good story, that rich young master got what he deserved in the end, yet its probably a happy ending for him all around. The other short stories are ok, not bad overall but nothing especially memorable. The main story in and of itself (chapter 1 and 2) is sort of amusing xD i do like the demon character, he's cute despite himself, but i would have liked to have seen more to that story, it felt a bit superficial and rush-rush.

Don't expect the plot of your life, but if you've read (and loved) Wagamama na Jewel by the same artist then know that these oneshots are just as cute, filled with gorgeous art (don't trust the cover) and you'll want to know why she didn't expand the stories instead of making short oneshots.

I liked this! The seme weren't mindless drones that only wanted sex and acted like nothing phased them, they actually got emoootional *gasp!!!* which is a delightful break from the whole "nothing bothers me at all seme". Recommended ^- ^

I guess people fail to understand that a five is an average, and anything higher means it's better. All of the stories are purely an excuse for smut, and very short smut, at that, with only a few pages. Sure, some characters are nicely drawn, but the story itself was incredibly boring and plain; nothing you haven't seen before. How some found the first story "touching" is beyond me; I don't know about you, but messing with your "rival" when you magically transform into a kid, and realizing that, for some reason, you like him, doesn't sound very poignant at all, especially in this genre. Must be every teenage girl's fantasy, I guess.

This review isn't meant to offend anyone, but to convey my opinion of this manga. I like my manga with plot, where characters are more than a cliché. It's fine for a quick comedy, but I wouldn't advise this if you're looking for something that has depth, where characters act on more than their desire.

The rest of the stories aren't bad, but the main story between the angel and the devil is an absolute stand out to me. In parts cute, funny, and even a little touching, it's terribly disappointing that they only got two chapters and not the entire volume. The second chapter (with its introduction of new characters) leaves the possibility for a continuation open, it's just a real pity that either the mangaka never chose to continue, or the magazine the chapters ran in never asked for more. I'm rating the volume a 10 simply because of the first story (which is one of the few oneshots that I actually like to periodically reread), while in truth, the other stories range from a 7 to an 8.

i love the art and the humor tho the last story isnt a comedy. the first(ch1-2) and last story(ch5) were the best. the cover pic doesn't really show off the range of the artist.
