So good..!

People's reaction to the assault at the beginning of this dj series and to that in its original source (Koisuru Boukun) is laughable at best and ridiculous at worst. It's precisely how said assault was treated afterwards and the aftermath following it that made me fall in love with KB and Takanaga Hinako, and I've never looked back since.

ANYway, back to this spin-off AU, I thought it was very enjoyable and I like it just as much as I do KB, though the massive loss of tears was uncalled for lol. I'm pretty sure none of us was prepared for that ending so shame on you Takanaga-sensei for breaking our hearts! (but please never stop doing what you're doing)

PS: Just a heads up for new readers who have never read KB: don't be discouraged and turn away from this doujinshi, because it pretty much is a separate entity, a stand-alone on its own, and requires no prior knowledge of the main series to fully comprehend and enjoy it.

I haven't read the original story, so I just read this dj as an independent work.

I liked the first chapters, the plot really hook me in, the whole thing about a bear helping a wolf and then the wolf helping the bear afterwards. It was really beautiful.

But then...
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Rape. Rape happened. I was about to drop it when it was happening but I kept reading to see if he qas gonna stop or it was gonna be fixed somehow. But nop, he never stops. He doesn't even feel guilty about it.

What I loved (and major reason why I'm giving this a 6 and not less) is that Ookami (the raped wolf) told the Bear (rapist) how it is. “You don't force yourself on someone you love.” Rape is rape, no matter WHO does it or HOW it's done. No matter if it's because of "love". Rape is rape. But I'm glad that this, so different than most yaois out there, actually show us that rape is wrong and again, “You don't force yourself on someone you love”, even the raped character isn't blinded by stupid love and sees this. So yeah, I was happy to see that. I wasn't happy to know that, like most cliches yaois, the raped person still ended up together with their rapist. But well, we can't have perfection in a yaoi. :(

Overall, a 6 because of first couple chapters. Still, I could have given it less, but... spoiler ↑.

Seeing as I love the mangaka and loved the original story there was no doubt I would love this dj.
But still, while Morinaga's first sexual encounter with Souichi in Koisuru Boukun was totally rape but he's shown to suffer for it later, this dj is like that but without the guilt. I know they're supposed to be animals, but rape is still rape.

It was just too good for words ! Koisuru boukun is my favorite manga, and i did'nt have enough with the manga only, so i thought i'll starte the doujin ! and i was'nt disapointed ! it was good !
I even cried in it, it was so touching how every thing happen !

I strongly recommande it !! if you liked koisuru boukun, you have to read this, the charactere even have the same personality, unlike other doujin about other manga were they don't match with theur charactere !!

A Doujinshi That Stands on Its Own

I have not read the stories that this doujinshi is based on, but I was completely captivated.

The mangaka developed her story carefully - the first two stories give the reader a background commitment for the characters. I audible screached, 'GAH!' at the end of the second story! By the time I read the third story, I was passionately involved with the feelings of 'Bear' and 'Wolf.' The close ups of their faces and the carefully chosen words at the end about defining love were exceptional.

EDIT: I reread this doujinshi two times over after becoming very familiar with it's canon, Tyrant. GOOD LORDIE! I am so in love with the original story and this DJ, even in their incomplete forms!
