I liked it, normal story about a dude becoming a hero....

Not so good:
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The good guys never die....undying abilities (insane hyunkel...) and they just reappear that is soo weird...

If u want to waste some time read it, but dont expect something adult.

Neither originial nor mature yet solid and charming story about a young boy who comes into his powers and defeats a demon lord. The characters will grow on you and their relationship goes from funny to touching to exciting moments.

Allies actually die in there, though many stay alive as is common in shounen manga.

Dead:
Baran
Gome-chan
Hadlar

I really wished there was a sequel about Dai

in the world of gods or demons. Someone said that after he sent off the bomb he probably arrived at one of those two worlds.

Recommended if you don't look for deep but entertaining shounen.

i first read this manga in the 90s and it was one of my first manga i read.
i believe this manga what made me interested in manga, rpg games and anime.
my whole life would probably be different if i didnt read this one lol. i probably would outgrew manga and become one of those ppl who see manga/anime as childish..

as at that time this manga is my top rpg/adventure manga. dont think any other title come close. db is another favourite but it mostly about fighting and not too much about adventure.

after this manga ended it been several years before i read another adventure manga that could rival it or even top it...onepiece..

I really liked this manga, not the greatest but good enough to keep you intrested. In my personal opinion I did'nt like the ending, it doesn't have a good closure for the characters individual story.

Dai no Daibouken is an absolute must read. It's so wonderful the way the entire experience builds up gradually from simple beginnings to the epic struggle between Dai and his close-knit team against the forces of evil. The characters are incredible - their emotional bonds with one-another are very moving and brilliantly written. It masterfully takes you on a roller-coaster ride with amazing pacing, awe-inpsiring battles and a story which will have you hooked from start to finish.

This manga has basically nothing. I consider it a manga for preteens. Not to be unrespectful to those who like it - in the end these are only opinions.
.
repetitive, art really flat and nothing original. The plot is extremely simple. Somehow inspired by DB. A couple of interesting characters, that's all. But if you like mature stuff with any depth just check something else.
Always IMHO

i'd say the best part of this manga so far is that it brings you back to the good ol' fantasy RPG days, where you have a classic storyline of good vs. evil. as far as plot, this manga is pretty good at it. at first, it didn't seem like it, however later on - it does indeed have a pretty nice and interesting plot. fights? - plenty of em, and they are all entertaining.

overall, i'd say - if you like RPG storylines, this one is probably one of the best.

Top five manga EVER

This manga is awesome, I've read the all 37 issues.
It's the best adventure manga you'll ever find, the story is evolving all along, it's not a stupid manga with plenty of daily different stories.

The amount of unique characters, the evolution of their skills, sentiments and relationship, the incredibly well written story (having one mangaka for the story and another for the drawing roxx !) are making of Daï no Daï Bouken the best manga I've ever read.
Only Hokuto no Ken and Please save my earth mangas can compete with this title among my top five rated mangas in terms of overall satisfaction

Just enjoy it and don't stop at the first chapters, where the hero Daï and his friend Poppu are still childish, their personality will incredibly evolve and you will just love to be the witness of their adventures !
