this was my childhood... so i decided to give it a try (while-i-was-feeling-so-numb-of-this-world-and-my-haven't-been-anything-b ut-unproductive)....
i just remember liking this so much when i was in grade 6 --- how the love development between Ad, Beth and Lauri would excite the hell out of me...
but in the latest chapter, the way Ad appears out of nowhere and said some cheesy lines just cringed me to death. But i still give it an 8 bc of my lovely memories, and because of the goregous artwork and the Victorian reference.

Will defly read Little Women after this!

Apologies to those I must offend by my statement, but I simply get tired of it when the main character is always made into an airhead.
The art is great, but I just simply dislike the way the protagonist is structured.

Drama

Lots of drama and it's like a messy shoujo harem. But despite that the artwork is amazing and the characters are nice, there's only one girl, the main antiprotagonist that I hate. The main girl's personality is strong and I love and can relate to the feelings between siblings. There is a lot of angst going on pretty much with all the male characters and I dig that. So to summarise the plot isn't my cup of tea as it's tiring to read but the art and characters probably make up for that. I hope to read more of it!

I don't have much to add, just look to the unsatisfied reviews and you have my opinions.

Beth is irritating. I have not read the book that this series is based on ( Little Women) but I can say that it would make more sense than this. Throughout the series, I just keep wondering: "Why is she doing that? Is she stupid? Why is that guy acting that way? He's a human being right?"

i love this manhwa. everyone else is saying it's random and unpredictable but i love it. i haven't figured out who she'll go out with yet and that's saying something bcos i usually figure out the relationships at the beginning of the story.

I've read the first volume and it kind of irritate me.. I don't know why, maybe because I really love Jo from the Little Woman, so I can't accept that she is not the troublesome one in the manga (not that I'm trying to push my ideal).. beside I find beth as annoying, her action, attitude are so urgh...anyway, maybe I should give it a chance once the series is finish...

Irritating

To be honest, I was actually expecting something interesting... But the main character is just so irritating. Her actions and thought process irritate me to no end. I understand that she has a lot of pressure and all, but that doesn't mean she has to fly into a rage all the time. She also doesn't think about the consequences of her actions. And how the hell did she fall in love with Greg. Someone shows her a little kindness and she's suddenly all over him. She's so weak.
The art is beautiful. However the plot is just all over the place. I just don't really feel any substance from the story...
The main character goes on like she knows everything, but she doesn't even understand her own feelings.

Nice Twist on the Novel

I haven't read too far into this (don't expect me to know all the plot points... but do I plan to read this once it's completed), but I have read enough to make a logical judgement on my first thoughts.
I have read the original novel 'Little Women', and the story is very mildly inspired from Little Women. 'Little Women' is the story of four sisters in America. They are not rich, their father is at war, but they still manage to live on, grow up, find their passions (the four girls are actually implied have individual passions and talents) find love, make friends, and make the best of life - you know the usual coming-of-age stories. The author of 'Dear My Girls' takes the idea of four sisters and gives it a giant twist - these sisters are now rich, extremely talented, beautiful girls adored by all... Well, all the sisters but Beth. The author has made BETH the clumsy troublemaker! Beth, who was the frail, innocent, lovable, delicate third sister in the novel, Beth is a clumsy troublemaker? This is a very smart twist... As somebody who as read the novel, this is very clever. It seems like a very good shoujo twist to Little Women, the concept is fresh, the art is nice, and if the author can just execute the story out well without too many cliches, it'd be great...

It's worth checking out

Not my all time favorite manga, but interesting enough, with a strong lead and all sorts of romantic triangles to keep your interest. The problem is, there's not much else. So far, it seems that all that's happened is relationship development. But I guess there's still time for stuff to happen (it's currently only on it's 18th chapter).

So to sum it up, it's not incredible, but it's worth checking out. My guess is that, if you are a shoujo fan of any kind, you'll like it but you won't necessarily love it. But I could be wrong.

At least the setting is unique (Victorian boarding school). Although, I'm not sure how historically accurate it is. It doesn't seem likely to me that there would be a lot of coed boarding schools happening back then. Or any at all, for that matter. But whatever. Sometimes you just have to say goodbye to historical accuracy. :-)

Bad Idea

Ive gotta say that the manga artist picked a terrible book to turn into a manga. Ive heard of Little Women and its the most boring book in HISTORY! Its out right random with no plot and boring characters. Although some people might find this version better because of the nice art, the art cant keep my attention away from the story line, sorry. sad
