Description
Her name is Orange. She's a young girl in high school, coming of age in the heart of the city. And she has decided she has nothing to live for. Not her shallow friends. Not her parents. Not school. Not even the empty promise of love. Her head filled with morbid fantasies of suicide, Orange finds herself standing at the edge of her rooftop when the drunken, enigmatic young man, Dashu, entered her world changing it forever.
A heartbreaking tale of a young woman desperately trying to understand the bewildering world around her, brought to life by the luscious artwork of global manga icon, Benjamin, Orange is a profoundly moving story of loss and redemption.

Art: 10
Story: 2

I like this dude Benjamin, only if he would pair up with someone that can write.

His manhuas are nothing more than beautiful paintings page after page. But if you try to read the text you'll spoil the feeling.

All his work is a big pile of depression, if you look at his manhua list there's none that doesn't get the Drama genre. I'm not sure if that's what's asked of him, or if he's incapable of writing something remotely positive. He draws bright colors but writes dark text.

Orange is no exception, you finish reading and you wish you never started and just took you time admiring the pretty pictures. Thing is, it's too short and abstract to get attached to the characters, so even the drama fails here. I'm only giving it a 2 because he probably put some effort into it, but the manhua would've been better with no text at all.

What attracted me first to this was the art. It looks really pretty and dreamy, full of swirling colors that mesh together to form urban scenes in this girl's life. Of course, if you look at the categories this manga is tagged under, you'll see that this is not at all supposed to be a "cheerful school girl's life". I actually find this to be more similar to hong kong movies in the way that it depicts her life. It's definitely worth a read.
