Nice Art, Rushed Ending

TLDR: Okay story, beautiful art, but will leave you wanting more.

Long Version: Taranta Ranta is a 6 because of one reason, it’s art is beautiful. All the characters are drool worthy and therefore its an easy read.
However, it’s story planning drags it down to barely above mediocre. It’s story feels rushed and the problems feel like the come out of nowhere. There’s no real lead or setup from the previous chapters, it’s just bam new story issue. But what was really the worst rush was the ending, it didn’t feel complete at all. In fact the last chapter feels like it set up another problem and then bam story is over. We just have to assume the MC will solve later I guess?
All in all, okay but not great.

Cute Art,.. but Confusing Story

I have to admit, I chose to read this manga mainly because of the art. When I started to read it I began to become confused. I find the story to be rather rushed, I mean first day of school and she already has a guy she loves, the panels kept focusing on a different guy which really added to my confusion on who she really likes. Then the next day she has an argument with the friend she made just the other day, and also had her heart broken AND falls in love with the guy who comforts her. .__. She just falls in and out of love too fast.

Still, there were some aspects I liked about it, one of which was
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Her neighbor ended up with her friend Nene. I liked it cause it was out of the norm. I thought at first that the neighbor harbored feelings for the main character, but as the manga progressed it soon showed that the neighbor didn't really like Hikaru in the way that Hikaru likes her sempais. I believe it would've been great if the manga included more romantic interactions between the friend and the neighbor.
Another good aspect of it would be the art.

Like many others before me have mentioned, the ending was a total cliffhanger. It really didn't show who exactly she ends up with but merely hinted it.

It feels unfinished...

I don't especially recommend this manga, it was sometimes a little bit muddled and really it feels like the author had to stop the serie before its time. In the end, it's a quick read but not particularly good.

this manga was quite good i guess
Hikaru's character was adorable yet she kept on crying and sticking her nose into other people's businesses
the romance between characters aren't fully developed -.- you would think that the relationships will be finalized at the end
but the ending is just too ABRUPT
Taranta ranta is one of those manga which leaves u frustrated and crazy when you realize that you just read the last chapter D:<
I just wanted to see Miki and Hikaru get together XD

overall the manga consists of cute characters yet bad developments -.-

Lame

The story had much more potential than it got. The characters stayed undeveloped and flat right till the very end. Actually they got flatter with every page. The main heroine is dumb. Like. Really. Her personality (wait, personality?) made me laugh 2 or 3 times but the rest of the time I just wanted to kick her ass. Others charas were much more interesting but they barely got screen time.
Story stayed undeveloped as well. I won't even mention the end.
The picture sequence was kinda hard to follow too, it just didn't flow... It was like the author was thinking of something entirely different while working on this manga. Completely different from Aishiteruze Baby which evean now is one of my top titles.
I give some points for the art itself though.

this one is very strange it seems incomplete . The characters' feelings aren't clear AT ALL . To me,it seems like the story was left unfinished. The ending is so bad. Do not read this one unless you have some time to kill.Seriously the main character is always crying , she's so annoying . So yeah , this one is not so good.

Not good

When I started reading it and the main female character changed the guy she liked ever so suddenly I started to not like this manga very much, but I kept on reading all the same. I don't think this is a good manga at all... the characters are very shallow, the story is not very good and there is no real ending since it just finishes at some random point. The ending feels like the mangaka was planning on continuing the story but she was forced to stop it there.

I wouldn't recommend this manga, even though the art is very pretty, there are much better two - volume shoujo mangas out there.

Worse than cliche

Oh god, this was worse than Sakuragaoka Angels. The story was awful and when I say that I mean it was written very poorly. It had potential, but as soon as I got deeper into the second volume it went downhill from there. The main character is off in la-la-land and in the worst way I've ever seen in a shoujo. Why was the second volume even published? I'm sad because the art is nice and the mangaka's other works are charming, but this one bites. A lot.

The manga starts out with your average pretty looking shoujo girl (Hikaru) getting ready for her first day of high school. She immediately spots a guy (who looks like her dead brother) and develops a crush on him. She makes friends with someone called Nene, who seems to shoplift.

Later on that same day, she meets her crush again, and her friend Nene out right tells him that our heroine likes him. What does he do? He kisses her of course, to toy around with her feelings. Hikaru is overjoyed of course and wants to go steady with this stranger. Later on they meet again and she tells him she wants to go steady. He rejects her because well, they're strangers. She calls him a pervert, and does a face-heel-turn, and falls in love RIGHT AFTER HAVING A CRUSH ALREADY by the guy that comforts her and tells her to stay away from that pervert.

None of these characters are entertaining or worthwhile or even developed. Hikaru is the faceless shoujo girl who cries about every other panel, has to get bishies to save her ass (because it's dark and she can't walk home alone!) and seems to fall in and out of love very easily. She constantly worries about her crush liking someone else and bawls about it. She's so shallow and one dimensional; just like every other shoujo heroine (but at least they get well developed later on).

The other bishy guys are one dimensional too. Everyone seems to like Hikaru for some reason, but they're so shallow and lie all the time that they really look stupid after a while.

The art is shoujo pretty, which in my own personal opinion is disgusting. I hate the fact that Hikaru looks just like the rest of the shoujo girls and the mangaka takes no effort to differentiate her from the crowd. Sparkling big eyes that look like every one else's eyes in the manga; check. Dense/goofy kind of look on her face; check. Groovy modern detailed hair; check. Cute school uniforms with a ridiculously short skirt; check.

Really, was the mangaka forced to draw the most generic manga ever?

No one should read this unless you LOVE reading the most clichéd, generic looking manga ever that doesn't even seem to have a story.

Ending was truly shattering. Not to mention totally ambiguous. But I suppose I shouldn't "see the forest for the trees". Wholly, it was very entertaining and wonderful. I really loved Jun. It's unfair to leave it like that. But I'll just make my own ending, Jun. Maybe that was the author's wish anyway, she couldn't pick just one.
