The reason I give this manhwa an 8, and not any higher is because I felt as if there were some holes within the story. True, the manhwa did have twists and turns, and I did tear up at the end, but I agree with what ceres21 said.
Overall, it's and excellent read, coupled with mystery and romance.

I loved reading it, because the plot is really original and unique. It looks like this author likes drawing stories that involve the time and the magic. Plus the bishies are gorgeous. The story gives you a bittersweet feeling, the kind you feel when reading another great manhwa, the Queen's Knight. I only found a small flaw in the end, as someone else noticed
Spoiler (highlight to view) if the curse that Karam casted on Yann caused his lover to die, like it happens to her in the end, what's the point in her promise to fall in love with him in her next life? It looks like it's the happy end when Jean and Monica meet in Paris, but since the curse still stands, won't Monica die as well, regardless being Canette's reincarnation? I guess I'll never understand this point but it's highly recommended!

I really liked the story development and the premise, but I feel like the ending was rather unrealistic.
Spoiler (highlight to view) For one, it never seemed like she was 'falling' for the teacher. She'd always be like "he makes me so uncomfortable," while she's always laughing and having fun with her classmate (sorry forgot their names haha...).
Also, I think the author should have retouched on the prophecy that was told in the beginning.
However, with the way it ended, I don't feel like it makes sense.
Becuase the teacher is kind of both of the guys, since he makes her die AND he's her lover? That's why I felt like Karam should have chosen the other guy.
So development was great, not too fast, not too slow. It's a great thing to read if you have an hour to waste. However, be prepared to be like 'wtf?' at the ending

The beginning was bleh--nothing special. Then you learn about the characters' pasts, and everything gets interesting. The plotline is very interesting, and the ending gives you hope for love. Overall, a good read.

I really enjoyed this manga because some of it was rather twisted, which was a nice change. The ending was a let down for me since one of the main male leads rubbed me the wrong way the entire manga, but I wont just focus on that.

Anything that makes me feel like this deserves a 10, yet is such a sad feeling. Through out the story I found myself cheering on each of the guys, and I couldn't ever blame her for not choosing either of them, but when she finally did, it was so unexpected. The ending was unbelievable, and even though it was a happy one, I can't stop feeling so sad. The author made an amazing work; (spoiler) consider this Yann lived for a very long time and watched many girls he loved live and die, so every time one of them died he must have felt really lonely; through this story I really felt like losing someone I really cared about. To sum up this is one of the best and original stories I’ve ever read and I highly recommend it.

I dunno about this series... i thought in the beginning its would be one of those incredibly dumb girls goin for the most popular guy... but it kept pulling out twists that draw u in. The series made me so sad it was amazing and it feels so complete which many series lack.
I loved how it ended it was so heartwarming. |

In the beginning volume, the story leads you to believe that it is a typical shoujo with some little element of mystery. Boy, were we wrong. This manga is far deeper than what it seems like. It does start off slow, but in the middle of volume 2, we learn more of the backstory ... And the ending... Good job mangaka. Melancholic but beautiful and perhaps hope for the future. This is a story that can not be missed out on, even if it is boring in the beginning.
