I only gave this a high rating (yes, 6/10 is a good score from me, for a romance series) because of the absurdly gorgeous cast. My utter joy at finding a yuri manga where the characters have faces appropriate for their age and beautiful, well-proportioned bodies (instead of the faces and figures of 10-year-olds embellished with gigantic breasts and abnormally wide hips like in the majority of GL) superseded everything else.

There are comments here that claim this manga's more like BL than GL... Really? Those look like boys to you? Pfft. And the decision to use male pronouns for the Adams and female ones for the Eves was the scanlators' choice, since the English language doesn't have respectful gender-neutral pronouns. Also -- yes, there are girl x girl intimate scenes. Good ones, too!

As for the story: the world building is nicely done and even makes an odd, twisted sort of sense, but the development of the plot is practically non-existent. In the end, the interesting premise was merely a gimmick to showcase gender-bender shenanigans and sappy romance, which probably doesn't come as a surprise to anyone who's ever read a GL (or BL) manga that purports to have a non-cliche setting.

If you're like me and are sick to death of seeing elementary-schoolers with watermelon boobs and tomboys with underdeveloped bodies, and want some really lovely figures for a change, give Renai Idenshi XX a try. But if you were lured here by the synopsis and hoped for something less shallow, story-wise, than the average yuri, you're in for a huge disappointment.

Not really a yuri manga

The idea is basically in the future all man died, and women implement rule where woman/couple will choose who became Adam and who became Eve, Adam will work and protect eve, while Eve will do child bearing and do household chore.

So far so good the problem is the Adam has to wore men cloth even worse they use cloth to flatten their chest. This doesn't make sense at all if not it was forced, I feel like the author want to make yaoi manga and not yuri and sure enough with bonus chapter it was clear.

Renai Idenshi XX, is misleading manga, it clearly looks like the author has more interest in making yaoi manga instead of yuri manga. If you like yaoi then sure go ahead read but if you like yuri I suggest you skip this one, the story is mediocre the ending is empty or simply is not an ending at all. I think it is clear that either this manga is axed or the author just tired making half assess yaoi/yuri manga.

Really Interesting!

I thought the bit about women splitting themselves up by gender was really interesting, sexist to the extreme but this IS Japan we're talking about. I thought the one-sex world the mangaka created was really realistic if you took a fairly sexist society made it suddenly only one sex. Besides, no all male society I've read had men assume the opposite gender/sex roll except by choice.
I thought the main character's struggle was short-lived and pretty anticlimactic despite being a really good goal! She was really naive and pretty stupid at times but I just found that funny (each time she got lost I thought of Zoro from One Piece).
Definitely worth the read if you like single-sex societies. Not much yuri in it but I thought what little there was was amazing.

Plus, that yaoi bonus chapter just had me crying from laughter. That was definitely a stereotypical yaoi and I would've been happy if the actual plot was like that single chapter but longer.

Only REAL smut scene...

The only real smut scene in this was yaoi. I LOVE yaoi, but if I wanted yaoi, I could have read something else, i.e.: Love Stage!! ... Or something a bit less fluffy, just like this manga is. I was trying to find out what Yuri was like, but... They gave me yaoi, but just called each other girls. Well, they didn't even do that! There were still basically "men". So.......... It was the stereotypical yaoi couple!... Yeah, I didn't come to read this... but the fact that I read the whole thing though must have meant it was interesting enough, 'cause I usually drop things in the first chapter if I don't like it.

Really great story, cute and fun, until you start thinking about the world building and social standards and anything related to the premise and partially plot, and it's like a swiss cheese. So don't. It's cute and fun and read it for the pretty art and blossoming luv and the rather creative shounen-ai trying to disguise itself as shojo-ai thing Renai Idenshi XX has going on. This isn't meant to be deep, so don't try to make it so.

But, on the other hand, the arthur could have probably came up with a more passable situation if she really tried, and some things were just to over the top for me, so two points off. Nice to pass time with, just don't reflect on it.

I actually like it a lot, i started it expecting to be depressed because it said drama and i could imagine how a plot like that could get dramatic. But so far, 7 chapters in there been almost no drama and a surprising amount of comedy, especially those extra chapters, yet its been labeled as drama and does not have a comedy tag.

Read up to chapter 7 so I don't know how good it will be in later chapers, but for now it is-verry funny, unique and interesting yuri.

I will update my rating later because I don't believe that it end well...

To be honest the idea of an all female society is not new or original at all, especially in yuri/lesbian fiction, I'm surprised a lot of people are claiming it is. The "adam" and "eve" system is pretty unique though, I'll give it that... however in the end I found the situation pretty annoying. Male and female stereotypes rampant, adams being referred to as "he" took me aback and made me feel even more like I was not reading about women, but transmen, which is cool but not what I was looking for.

The story so far is decent. I feel like it's a little melodramatic at times but it's alright, a lot other yuri have done worse. I hope the author is able to take this story a little deeper into challenging the flawed society she created, instead of continuing to fiddle inside of it.

concept- pretty good, interesting
plot- at least there is a decent plot
chatacters- feels weird bcuz we know they are all girls but the majority of the ADAMs look like guys, and they are referred as "he"........

Fell short

The concept is interesting, well worth exploring, but the story just falls short in my opinion. Graphics are great, the women, when they look like women are beautiful. But the fact that they are all women may as well be lost. They dress like men, act like men, even bind their chests (who knows why!). In theory they don't know "men", but if they hadn't told me that, I'd be clueless. The gender stereotypes still rule as strongly as ever. Like, seriously, and Adam must protect the weaker gender, Eve? Hello, now there IS no "weaker gender"!

I like the way someone put it on mangafox: "This could be classified as shounen-ai."

So yeah, if you like the whole aristocracy vibe in a story
