Description
For 820 years he had slumbered with no knowledge of mankind's advancement and scientific progress. The land which he once knew has become an unfamiliar place with new technology, attitudes, and lifestyles. Upon awakening, Cadis Etrama Di Raizel (called Rai), seeks to familiarize himself with this era. He locates a loyal servant of his, Frankenstein, who is currently the principal of a high school in South Korea. Rai decides that this school is the perfect place to help him learn about the modern world, enrolls, and begins associating with a group of good-natured students in order to 'blend in.' But this new world is no safer than the old; and the dignified, bewildered, technologically inept Rai finds himself embroiled in adventures both ridiculous and dangerous.

What makes this manhwa special and draws me to love it (and maybe most reader) is Cadis Etrama Di Raizel and Frankenstain's personality. As for the plot and story, there are a lot manga/manhwa like this. It really is the two main chara are the charm in this manhwa.

The number one reason I read Noblesse: Cadis Etrama Di Raizel.

Never, in all my years of reading all genres of fiction novels, short stories, epic poems, mangas, etc, or in all the movies or shows I've watched, have I ever seen such a self-sacrificing, loyal, and absolutely astounding show of character as I've seen in Noblesse. Here you've got the most powerful being on the whole planet from the get-go, who only uses his power at the last minute to protect those who care for him, and also to punish those who abuse their power even when it pains him to do so.

I can't write enough praise about Rai so... Frankenstein, his servant, is the second reason I read this. His devotion to Rai is awesome, and he's super powerful and wonderfully sadistic... really the opposite of his master.

The other characters are great too, even the "regular" human kids. I love the story and the plot. There's the traditional nobles on the 'good' side and the up-and-coming Union on the 'bad' side, though neither are really good nor bad.

It's not a mainstream shounen, but it is a shounen. Again, the MC is the most powerful guy on the planet, so he easily destroys those in his way. But he doesn't want to, he doesn't scream and yell about it, and it hurts him.

There are some flashbacks, but what makes them so great is they're just long enough for the reader to understand more about the present but yet not get bored with and stuck in the past. Some even only last a few panels, but much is told with just those few.

And the last bit of why this is my absolute favorite manga/manwha/etc is the humor. It's original, all of the characters show a bit of it, and it's fairly clean. It also comes at unexpected moments. Humor is a must for me and Noblesse does a fantastic job of delivering it.

Also... this is the ONLY manga/manwha I have completely read more than once. ^^

I first tried reading very soon after it came out, the impression that it left wasn't very good, so I dropped it for awhile. It was after it built up to about a hundred or so chapters when I got bored, and decided to give this another go. Frankly, I got hooked, and have been following this series devotedly ever since.

The one thing that I can never-pin point with this manwha is why like it. If you asked me: Is the plot deep and original. I'd say: no. Is the characters original I'd also say: no. But I would say that there is a certain charm. Character stereotypes are put into situations and places where they normally wouldn't be. Humour is dropped when you'd least expect it. All in all it's fun, and difficult to get bored off.

A note to latest chapters:
I agree with comments saying that artwork has gone down hill since the beginning. It's high point was in the second and third seasons (imo). It might have something to do with the artist and author taking short breaks between seasons and starting a new series called "Ability". However I maintain a hope the art will go back to it's golden days.

I normally avoid manga made for guys, being a girl, it simply isn't targeted at me and I often find them slightly offensive due to how female characters are almost always portrayed. However, I was bored, had nothing to read and needed to get out of the real world. And Noblesse showed itself to me. I love how it takes the piss, and how unbelievably bad-ass some of the characters are, (it makes me feel like a fan girl.) I love how funnily insane other characters are and that no matter how serious the story is at the time is always manages to slip something in there that makes you grin. It is also exciting and something I cnan re-read. I love how the baddies they meet aren't always all that evil and that although it is predictable, it has so many redeeming qualities that it is still a good read. I wish it was an anime as well, because now I have to wait for the chapters to update and I have to find something else to read.

Like others have said before me, this web toon isn't for everyone. The majority do enjoy it though, as I am one of them. The people who rate Noblesse so high are obviously enchanted by it's charm but again not for everyone. If it's not for you, it's fine if you stop reading, just don't be that guy who ruins everyone's fun by critiquing something that is for pure entertainment.

 Reasons to love Noblesse-

Story~
Generally speaking there are two type of stories, plot derived and characters derived. Ofcourse every story have both of them, but one of them is focused more than the other.
Noblesse is acharacter derived series, so you might not find the plot to be that complex. Though it have great mysteries and suspense in its own world. Sci-fic and supernatural elements are really well mixtured in the story.
Its characters is its strength, and for a shonen story they are original. Their personalities,attitudes, powers, backstory for maximum of them are both original and interesting.
It doesnt have the usual shonen crap: Protect my friends + Last moment power-ups.

Humour~
Jokes are not your usual fart/pervet ones, Noblesse have its own unique sense of humour.

Art~ (Webtoon-Full Colour)
Noblesse have unique and good artstyle. Starting is not catchy but after first 50 chapters the character design is greatly improved. People usually find the main character to be a bishie though. Background and fight scenes are really well drawn and artist knows from which angle the scene would look the best for readers.

Pace~
Starting is somewhat turn off for many readers and I agree to some extent. So if you dont want to miss a great story, dont let starting turns you off. (Read the chapters in "one strip format" for best experience).
Fights are short but satisfying enough. Rai's fight are usually defined as "Epic" and other character's fights are interesting enough too.

Negatives~
The only thing I'm disappointed is on the fact that Villains arent given backstory. While its one of the few series where protagonist doesnt shows any hesitation when it comes to kill an enemy, but it would have been more interesting if villains had their own backstories. Its not a turnoff though.

Overall, I really like it and its currently my favourite shonen series. Read it if you like good and original characters with interesting personalities, no annoying shonen cliches and a well drawn manga. Its a must for every action and supernatural lover. Female readers of both Shojo and Josei demographic would find it ienjoyable too.

this is the first time comment here but i´ve been a reader of almost every genre for 10+ years and never felt this extreme joy of reading manga. the plot and the buildup every time gets just better and better and it always leaves an impression of much more deep plots with great fighting scenes as well as looking beautiful.

hey first of all i put that as my title because it is the reason ive stayed away from this manga and to clear things up with others so they dont stay away for the same reason is that i thought it was a yaoi (gay) manga and im not into that. Even though it didnt say yaoi, with all the "good looking" main male characters that out number female i thought it would end up that way but im glad to say it didnt (no offense to yaoi readers) . any way my review:

This manga is one word amazing, the art is spectacular and is really cool in fight scenes. the art does change a little later on but its nothing to complain about its probably good to give the artist time to make more chapters faster. the story is really good even though it does some times take time to develop and the characters are made really way (i ignore the kids because there irrelevant to me) all the nobles have cool abilities and appearance, there are a lot of unique enemies and in particular the best characters of course are rai and Frankenstein (but i really like Regis and Seira too) Rai is immensely powerful and is really funny when hes viewing the world and Frankenstein is powerful too and i love when he puts people in their place. all in all i recommend this 100% and my only problem is i want a little more chick characters for the guy character but any way worth the read and keep reading even though the beginning is kinda slow

This is the first time I've rated a manhwa/manga with a perfect score 10. I've been reading mangas/manhwas for years now and been giving them a rating here in mangaupdates and to other sites and I never gave and even seldom rate some 9. But when I started to read Noblesse, I felt enlightened. I've found a manhwa with a story that I felt the same with the story I used to create in my mind. I'm very delighted! I love everything in this manhwa! It's perfect! Especially, Rai. HE'S THE MOST ELEGANT PERSON I'VE EVER KNOWN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! Ugh, I think I'm in love with him.

Anyway, this manhwa is so amazing and I won't get tired of reading it over and over again.

Still love the plot and the characters, but I really hope the art returns to its previous glory >.> Before the 1-month break it seemed the artist acknowledged the complaints about artwork, but nothing has changed sad
