I liked but...

Spoiler (mouse over to view)

very disappointing sequel.. basically wasted all of the good stuff that the prequel contained. Plot turned lame, characterization felt totally off. They were like different characters which ruined it for me big time since i liked the original Ritsu and Kodaka.. Only thing that was good was the smut scenes. In other words the series devolved into one of those plotless smut manga.

First class sex scenes - the rest is meh.

Well some people here need to get a grip because raging because of the open ending just makes them look bad... if you pay any attention you'd see that the mangaka has passed away, she could not finish this, that's the reason why it's all left hanging in the middle!

That said, I enjoyed the prequel and kinda liked this one as well, the art is even better here (even closer to Yamane Ayano - wonder who inspired whom? or if it was coincidence that their art styles look similar?).
The storytelling was a bit .. all over the place, a lot of talk, not enough pictures... it was difficult to follow at times. The way it was translated doesn't help either...
I'm not sure what was going on, who did what, and the characters' intentions or anything... and I also have to say that I find it a bit difficult that the main story like, the whole thing with the student band, then turned models and such, isn't implemented in a clean line, all sorts of stuff happens and you lose sight of the main story line like it doesn't matter anymore.
Natsui is a inconsistent main character, one moment he's sure about his feelings and self confident and the next moment he is a crybaby and wants to give it all up... he goes from wanting Ritsu and not wanting to lose him to being scared shitless from just a little kiss... it gets old over time.
I wish the characters came across a bit more solid, like you can to know them and know just how they'd react or act, but instead they are so random that you keep wondering why exactly they do what they do...
You'd think they actually like one another but then Ritsu goes ahead and tries to prove something to Natsui by getting it on with a callboy - just cause Natsui is scared of having sex... ehh.
It made me chuckle that typical uke has a small one, seme has a big one thing.... Ritsu's thing is the size of my forearm!
If your guy does something like that, you pack your things and get outta there.
I also will never like Nanao and don't think he should have been so easily forgiven and put in as a main character...

Altogether I'd recommend this to fans of the mangaka, to people who read and liked the prequel and fans of the art style.... and the sex scenes are very well done, so if you are really into the better kind of smut then it's worth looking into this book as well!
Anyone else, there's better yaoi out there both story wise and character wise!

Yes the series is marked complete because the Author passed away do to illness. So all of her incomplete mangas were marked complete. So you basically have to finish the story yourself in thought. It's truly SAD such an awesome author and artist, and really interesting storylines in all her mangas. She is and will always be greatly missed.

Ok, I wanted to like this series, I did. BUT b/w the prequel and the sequel, I'm left with more questions than answers. I cannot believe the plot was meant to be this confusing! So was it the scanlations? It feels like whole chapters were left out! And even the tone changed from the first series to the second. The characters' personalities as laid out in the first series is completely different compared to the second! Everyone seemed to change drastically and unfortunately, for the worse! Kodaka most of all. Instead of growing from the 1st to the 2nd, he regressed and got more clueless. Even Ritsu got more like the average yaoi seme with his 'Mine' attitude. Just so...unsatisfying.
The author said in the afterword that the publishers changed from the first few volumes to the last few. I have to conclude that the author had to comply with the publisher's wishes to make it more like the average yaoi. That's the only explanation for the downswing such a promising series took!

I'm still giving it 7 stars for the art, which is gorgeous (no one can disregard the quality of these bishies! lol) and the satisfying happy ending for the secondary couple. However rushed that particular sub-plot seemed, I was just relieved they at least got closure unlike everything else in the book.

So many negative comment here. I haven't read it yet. But what I know now is FINALLY I FOUND THE WEBSITE THAT HAVE THE SCANLATION!!!! Since it's published in us, I hardly found it. I'll read Asap after my current DL is finished.

oh, BTW, I love the art. gorgeous! It reminds me of YA's art (esp in Haginokouji seiya-sama. the main character is like Ranmaru from Ikoku!!) I'm sure if she were still alive, they would be a good rival. RIP, Asami Tohjoh.

I wouldn't recommend this if you are thinking about buying the english published work it's done very poorly and not worth the read. Also I think an extra is missing from volume 2 of the english published by kitty media compared to the original japanese published book.

Overall the art is OK, only slightly better then the prequel, the plot was written very poorly and as the sequel I found it confusng as to what Mr. Handa's motive were.

well...there's so much changed in this work...especially on the art...

there's more smex scenes than the previous, but somehow the feeling that I got from previous story gone somewhere else,at list that what I feel.

as if the character in this series is different from the prequel...they just happen to share the same name...

and I agree to the prev opinion...Ritsu's just way to to big...it's something you can laugh of...hahaha

Between the changes from the original series and the awful job Kitty Media did with this title I'm pretty annoyed right now. Much like the prequel, this series doesn't have a proper ending, there are abandoned subplots and not all characters get closure. Yet while the prequel made up for it by being charming and fun, this title never reaches this level. Like a previous reviewer mentioned, Natsui is dumbed down to the level of idiotic, clueless uke with inferiority issues. Even Ritsu changed and he is now more of a generic seme rather than the striking, taciturn boy from the prequel. The artwork also changed and for the worse- sometime around the second volume Ritsu turns from a silm teenager to a buff older man and I also have to say this- Ritsu's umm... "member" is far too large for his body. The result is comical, not sexy. In the end what you get is a very generic, pointless yaoi title.

I probably would have given this a higher score if it were a stand alone, but I can't help but compare it to the original series (to understand the differences all you really have to do is look at the covers for both series). If I didn't know better I would think this is the work of a different mangaka!
