it's presented as a light hearted fluffy piece about yakuza (and the romanticisation thereof) but it's got a lot of heart to it. that 2 panel shot where kotaro exclaimed
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
even if the world hates you it's your duty to stand above it all and accept yourself
really got to me! i keep finding myself coming back to read each panel and treasure every moment. this author is surely a gem, i'm so glad I found her work <3

haha I really love these dumb takes on yakuza stories...but they're so good! I love the ridiculousness of all the characters, and the relationship between the mains is sweet and really endearing. all the characters were nicely constructed and had a funny dumb spin to them. I agree that this is better than Hontou Yajuu (I really don't understand that manga's popularity...it got boring so quickly for me...).

I absolutely loved the plot twist in this manga! It caught me off guard a bit and was really funny! Now I need to read the spin off series based on those characters involved.

light, entertaining, funny romance - it's worth to read

Really good read, entertaining, nice, funny. It may not look like it but it's above the regular. There is:
1. good art - it's really pretty, similar to Natsume Isaku sensei's
2. it has a plot, and it's not immediately obvious what's gonna happen (well... except that seme & uke will be dating ; p )
3. likeable characters, with a background (we know their past, reasons, family) and brains (they aren't dumb or devoid of human feelings, it's actually unique for a yaoi that we know not only the main character's thoughts or seme&uke's thoughts but also supporting characters' point of view)
4. sense of humour (the way Kota were finishing the dying Yakuza's movie line... and kicking Grandpa is great)
5. common sense (it's like it might happened in reality)

What else? There is nothing annoying in this manga. Although it's not psychological, smut or dark ambience kind of story (that I like the most) and it's lacking a little of graphic sex, it's highly recommended. The same goes for the spin off Akunin o Nakaseru Houhou . Enjoy ^^

Pretty good

Honto Yajuu could learn a thing or two from this manga. Both series deal with the more light-hearted yakuza-themed kind of story, mostly because of the silly/cute young master that each clan in both stories has. However, wherever I look this manga is far more sublime than Honto Yajuu, in almost every way possible. The humour is more clever, the story is more heartwarming, the characters are much more loveable, and overall this whole book is much much less annoying than the other. Although there are silly moments, they actually compliment the development of the plot and the characters, and because there is only 1 volume, it proved to be the right length and spaces to get the story across without getting repetitive, unlike that other series I mentioned earlier *ahemhontoyajuu*.
The art is considerably better here as well. Much more flexible and 'easy-going', which is perfectly suitable for a manga about yakuza. At the same time it's adorable and so cute. I just wish the cover art were as good though - I mean the inside art is way better.
