Description
From Selene Scans:
Ogata Natsuki is the best player on the Kakuchi Junior High Basketball Team. Which is not saying much because they couldn't even get through the 3rd round of the Prefectural Tournament from freshman year until the end of Junior High. For High School, his friends convince him to try out for the Number One High School Basketball team, Fujiwara Academy. So he goes to live with his aunt who runs a hot springs resort to go and try out for the best. Fujiwara Academy.

The thing is... he's small. So people look down on him and he has trouble convincing people he's any good. Through one thing or the other, he ends up with Tachibana Mitsuki watching her school, St Mariannu High go up against Fujiwara Academy in a practice game. But the thing is, St Mariannu is very weak. Weaker than even his former school. Fujiwara is just toying with them and now they don't even want to finish the game. What will happen now? Will Natsuki ever be able to achieve his dreams of being High School Basketball's Number 1? And will it be with Fujiwara?

Standard shounen with a few bright moments. by Jooles on November 20th, 2009, 5:33am

It's all pretty clichéd. But I like shounen-sports, so it's cool. It had a few moments that bumped the rating up a notch or two, though. Be aware that the ending is abrupt, so if you can't stomach that...

Enjoyable Read. ♥♥~ by anime27 on August 2nd, 2009, 1:20pm

i actually enjoyed this series.
the art was nice,
and the story was killer. [sorta]

though you feel like you skipped a bunch of chapters at the end,
it was still very enjoyable.(:

it would have been an automatic thumbs up if it didnt rush.
but all in all it was one of the good shounens. (:

&&the details in the games are amazing.
makes you want to play basketball yourself. ♥♥~

even though was predicting this to happen, i was still enjoying this manga. the end was jus too quick and didnt reach wat i was hoping to see for whole manga..
when they say martial art basketball remind me of the move kung fu basketball.
dont really care if theres a sequel or not, if there is ill read if not whocares..

I hope theres a sequel by Reiketsukan on February 16th, 2009, 5:06pm

The ending was soooooo freaking abrupt, there has to be a sequel because there were too many things that were left midway, like them winning the finals in the championships, etc etc

Had potential, but fizzled at the end. by tanstaafl on January 21st, 2009, 1:38pm

After I read the last chapter, I had to go back and see if I'd skipped over a bunch of chapters (I hadn't): the ending was so abrupt and left so much up in the air that I felt like I'd missed half a dozen chapters somewhere. sad

Late in the series, the mangaka adds two new characters and gets so wrapped up in their story that the rest of the story just gets pushed into the background for the rest of the series. The final chapter didn't feel like a real ending, but more like an omake chapter tacked on to fill out the last volume.

To me, this series needs five or ten more chapters to finish up the story properly; as it is right now, I wouldn't see much point to a sequel.

Sigh. by Reseii on January 19th, 2009, 4:18pm

The overall manga was nice. But.. lacking. Decent art. Nice characters.
The ending was.. unexpected. Seriously, the whole thing was about beating Fujiwara, but it ended with Houtei. Were we supposed to assume they were going to beat Fujiwara? Is there going to be a sequel? Seriously, I never would have suspected it ended there until this thing told me it was finished.

ending? by dane_mangamanic on January 7th, 2009, 11:37am

i like it actually because i'm a fan of basketball. but i would assume they won in the end, don't they?
the last chapter was so different from the previous. it was like coming out of the blue. nonetheless, i like the ending. haha

everything good until the end....... by Lightning Hiro on December 29th, 2008, 4:17pm

like i said, everything was good until we reach the last chapter, are we suppose to assume they won? i rather see the whole match of fujihara vs st. marianu......than just expect they won after beat houtei.........the ending was too fast

Average by kanvas on July 29th, 2008, 12:25am

the first match is nice but the training is going super human, that put me off a abit, but might as well keep an eye on it to see anything better come up. Right now, it's just an average, no plot manga.

It'sgonna be NOT LEGENDARY by fontain on May 13th, 2008, 12:16pm

Basically that's a sport manga with cute side characters. So far the plot is like this : one match, training, and again... It's like suzuka with no romance or better comparison, like Slam dunk but surely less and less funny. I am not a fan of basket, so it is an average manga for me.
