Description
From ShoujoMagic: Yori's attitude has changed. He and his twin sister, Iku, used to be inseparable as children, but lately Yori's been different -- eager to be apart from Iku. Iku worries that he hates her, but the truth is far more scandalous. Now, Yori would risk losing everything to have his little sister. Iku loves her big brother enough that she would never risk losing him, and so she'll do what it takes to keep them together... but Yori doesn't want to have her that way -- as a sister dedicated to her twin. Can Iku ever love Yori not as a brother but as a man?

Something special about this manga is that it shows both the girl's and guy's perspective on the matter, their feelings, etc.
Erm, I enjoyed it at the start but later it starts to get boring. At the start, Iku was a bit clumsy, slow, and is cute at times. But later, (after Yori leaves) she starts to become a really annoying girl, who cries cries cries. I'm absolutely disgusted by her. Congrats, she had successfully became a typical shoujo manga lead who cannot protect herself, and whining + crying is her forte.
The incest theme isn't very strong, and the smutty areas was alright.
Overall, it was good, and things are getting interesting.. |

Personally, I don't do incest... Really, I can't do incest. But if I had to say something about it (I read the first volume), it wasn't too bad. Ugh, incest...
9/10 because (should this really affect my rating?)I LOVED the spin-off, and it wasn't actually that bad. I just don't swing that way...

Of my manga preferred, after uwasa no midori-kun! and zetsuai/bronze, goes east manga, ENCHANTS to ME, is brilliant, too much smut at the outset (the 3 first volumes) later practically does not have, great drawing, great form to explain the feelings in each page, Iku is charming, went away an uncle or lesbian it would enamor with her xD to me and Yori is super sexy, we have loving trio with Yano, the life and miracles of the mother of Iku and Yori….in aim I recommend, it, although but it is worth to you not to hate incest, because if not….you would pass bad xD

In Boku Imouto, it feels like the incest theme was just mixed into a typical shoujo story to deliberately produce the 'shock' effect. Going for a head-on approach to this taboo subject instead of a careful one, the mangaka milks this 'forbidden love' appeal for all its worth and ties it in with her usual teenage angst shtick.
I agree with fictionalscience, the excessive melodrama and paper-thin characterisation make it hard to truly sympathise with the characters. When it comes down to it, this is just shoujo fluff (with added angst!), and what I find especially lacking in Boku Imouto is the realism and quiet, subtle feeling seen in Koi Kaze. I guess it's unfair to compare two incest mangas of different genres, but I prefer Koi Kaze so much more.

gaaaaaaahhhh >.< i lovelovelove this manga, and the ova, too...
well, about the incest theme and stuff... *g* i think, that they aren't really twins, not even siblings, because in vol 3 chpt 18 the father looks at their pic (after ohters have watched it and said, that it is kinda strange, that the two of them so much don't look alike) that even "their birthday's not at the same date" x3 huuuuuhhhhhhhh i'm so excited how the story will go on......

| I don't like it, not because it's incest, but because the plot is predictable and over-dramatic, and the characters are not likable (as another comment says, the guy's quite a jerk, can't sympathize with his pain). Typical immature shoujo manga, just with incest. |

Gosh am so glad that was over with, truly a good manga but the angst and drama is all the way to the last chapter....really it took a toll on me. I'm quite familiar with sensei's work and have no issues with the smuttiness or incest for that matter afterall is not in my family so i do not really think abou it...hehe. Glad it did not end in tragedy, i would have been horrified. After all the mangas i have read so far from sensei i think is the best because even with the drama it kept me there reading even when i could hardly take it.

i'm not going to read it.. but i saw the anime... And it was cute!!! this guy love his sister sooo much and in a cute way and the end is super cute... Obviating the fact that they are siblings..... it's not that i like this kind of mangas.. and it's actually it's like whatever,.... but i dind't hated it...

ok so far so good, i also agree with Sukay-san i personally like mangas that have themes of "incest" but i dont really approve of it in real life but it doesnt concern me just as long other ppl dont know if they're related and not show too much public affection
also yes like Bikuki-san said there is gonna be a movie real life based off of this manga with Jun Matsumoto and another actress that will play the sister i saw the preview in crunchyroll.com but it wasnt subbed so i was just looking trying to figure out what they was saying.. at any rate
i like that there isnt A LOT of sexual scenes but just some teasing i guess and i so love Iku-chan she's so naive in a sort bad and good way i mean i literally feel off my bed when is this considered a spoiler?-------> (yori-kun told yano-kun that she didnt know they was in an incestous (sp?) relation)
i was twitching also! anyways i would recommand it but not to people who 1.dont like incest 2.have high morals 3.are perturbed by umm explicit-ish images 4.dont like any of the 3 mentioned before other than that i recommand it

I think this series of manga is wrong to start out with. The relationships between brother and sister is not love -.- and i will read if only they not really sibling but they are so i think is wrong !!!
