Description
From MangaProject: Touch is a shounen story about two twin brothers, a pretty girl next door, and that good old pastime of baseball. The manga was written by one of the most well known manga-ka out there, Adachi Mitsuru in the early 80's (1981-1986). He's a wonderful writer who tends to write stories that are related to baseball and Koshien, the stadium where the All High School Baseball Tournament is held. Touch was one of the winners of the 1983 Shogakukan Manga Award for shōnen or shōjo manga, along with Adachi's Miyuki.

| Better than H2 imo by yuri999 on March 3rd, 2010, 9:25am |

I found this to be much better and more engaging than H2. It was shorter and the characters were much better here. Even the relationships weren't all just "slap, kiss, slap" like they were in H2. However the ending here was totally great. The final baseball match in touch was more intense and actually engaging than the one in H2 which was in comparison tame. Altho I hated H2 and its ending, later on it hit me with how deep it was. Touch on the other hand doesn't have such a deep ending but it is more satisfying, believe it or not. I would suggest you read this first if you are a first time adachi reader.

198x work from adachi mitsuru, This is so classic. For me best 3 of baseball manga by adachi are 1.H2 2.touch 3.cross game.My recommendation is to read all of them if you like its, then read all other work from adachi (katsu-boxing,rough-swimming,miyuki-love comedy,nine-baseball,itsumo misora-super natural -- all completed scan)

| H2 ending by dark mage on March 30th, 2009, 9:09pm |

| @Brainskull. About the H2 manga ending, is the main character's relationship really resolved? I thought it didn't show who he ended up with at the end |

| This is Adachi's first or at least i think first baseball manga and I've seen both H2 and cross game parities in Touch. Even with parities all 3 have, each have there own path/story they follow. In this one the main character is probably the worst out of the 3, in about everything but one Spoiler (highlight to view) the girl likes him straight out and with very little strings attached . On top of that he also has the hardest obstacle to over come out of the three. In terms of endings i liked this one better the H2 and will have to wait for cross game, but cross game looks like it will be a better ending then this one, hopefully.Comparing all three mangas Spoiler (highlight to view) Ok ill put Touch as the base and compare the other two to it. Touch vs H2, H2 is pretty much a 180 from Touch in about everything including the ending. In Touch, the main characters relationship is left to the readers, but whether he wins Kohsien is not. In H2 the main characters relationship is told and whether he wins Koshsien is left to the readers. When it comes to Cross game vs Touch, felt Cross game was faster version of Touch, at least what has been shown right now, of course there are some differences between the two but over all it felt like Adachi took Touch's speed dial and just doubled it and bingo Cross game but we will have to see the ending to make sure of that.

| My Favorite Adachi Mitsuru Manga by naikan on February 25th, 2009, 9:49pm |
|
To be honest, I suspect that one's favorite Adachi Mitsuru Manga may depend on which of his works you read first. Nevertheless, this is definitely my favorite work of his for a long time now.
Adachi Mitsuru likes to sometimes put in random twists or new characters to compete for the female lead's affections. A lot of these twists are pretty abrupt and do not further the plot. A lot of those side characters get forgotten only to resurface for a single panel 2 volumes down the road.
Therefore, the reason I like Touch so much is because there's no pointless plot twist and every character that is introduced is developed and not forgotten like in other manga. I say no "pointless" plot twists because although there is a plot twist, it's far from pointless- in fact, it's the whole point of the manga, and it's handled beautifully. It comes just after enough plot development but before it can be called "plot twist of convenience", which Adachi Mitsuru has used in other manga.
Other than that, Touch is pretty characteristic of the mangaka's offbeat humor and slice-of-life romantic stories, plus good sports action. It's my favorite work of his, although recently Cross Game has been really enjoyable too, and I highly recommend reading this.

It the title of the 4th movie. Please watch the 4th and 5th (Cross Road) movies. They have mature theme, when both Tatsuya and Minami are at college. Honestly, Touch manga is not as good as H2, but the anime was so great, both animation and soundtrack. Give it (the anime) 10/10 PS: still I cant get why some fellows rate it 1 or 2.

This is the first time I actually sat down to read his work and I have to say Adachi Mitsuru can rightly be called a genius. At first when I saw the art the series didn't really appeal to me, being to simplistic and crude and as such I didn't read his series. However, I was surprised to see the depth of the characters as well as the how they grew. There aren't many fillers and the plot moves pretty well and his story has humor that doesn't actually keep on repeating itself. Overall, a well thought out story and though the art isn't anything to die over, you gradually seem to enjoy his simple yet elegant picture though all the characters seem to look alike.

I decided to read this because I enjoyed H2 so much. But after reading H2 first, I can see a lot of "weak" points in Touch, which were later addressed in H2. H2 had much better story, characters, and jokes. Still, Touch is pretty enjoyable to read overall.

This manga touches the heart of the reader. Both in good and bad ways.
The humor is spot on and the characters are likable.
The biggest issue I have with the manga is the fact that he always has to have those images of bikini clad females thrown in. More tasteful than most fan service, but still detracting.
